No mention of clock speeds...

^† None of the clock rates have been confirmed by Nintendo, IBM or ATI.

information which has been available for about 5 years now on wiki, altho I guess you missed the fact that the spreadsheet is from the wii and not the wii-u

Crazy, I guess there really won't be that much of an improvement over this gen!

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

I know Broadway is the Wii CPU dumbass. Don't lecture me on Wii specs. I was looking for official clock speeds. Not clock speeds that Ubisoft made up.

Also, be fucked. And go fuck yourself.

Check out my Youtube Let's Play channel here.

Wasn't the Gamecube's GPU clocked higher than 243 mhz?

I do wonder what chips clock speeds he was looking for just before the tourettes kicked in and completed his post for him lol.

Edit - also for darkknightkryta

Graphics processing unit:

  • 162 MHz "Flipper" LSI (co-developed by Nintendo and ArtX, acquired by ATI)

Not sure if been confirmed by nintendo or not altho the wiki article doesn't state otherwise! don't roast me on it tho :D

Back at SpaceWorld 2000, Nintendo was flaunting the Dolphin chipset of the GameCube. See, there was once a point in time Nintendo actually outpowered the competition. 3rd parties have always just been too stupid to know how to develop a game for a platform that was optimized for awesome.

Not gonna quote the whole message cos maybe best to have a fresh start eh mate? :) but from what I remember the original Xbox and the Gamecube launched almost the same time as each other and the first Xbox had a bit more power up it's sleaves than the GC but saying that, both of those were leaps and bounds ahead of the power inside the PS2 just.... it had already sunk it's teeth into so many people both for being the first of the generation out the gate and for most people being the first DVD player they owned so it was hard for people to get over this.

As for third parties, you see that all the time still most of the time it's just because of them making bloody games for the lowest common denomonator, if you see a game being made like the WWE games which come on Xbox360/PS3/wii/psp like.... if you've played those things I mean the smackdown VS Raws I've not had the bad luck to play wwe12 yet but yeah those games are pretty much all based on the PSP versions which is appaling to see on a big HD console. It's simply a case of if a first party is making a game for just it's console they can absolutely use all the unique graphical and gameplay tricks that system has to offer... whereas with third party things, they can't utilize the unique good points of a system and instead they have to bend and twist the game to adhear to the weakest aspects of each system it's going to be ported to.

Nah, when all was said and done, the GC was more powerful as it turned out. People had a great preference for the Xbox and its lineup but the system with the most performance capability was the GC
