what was taken from the mii system and used on playstation home?

Personal avatars that you can play as with other people. A huge environment where the avatars gathered together and interact. Home added customizable homes and various envionments to it like a hub world but the basic idea behind was to be an "improved" version of the Mii which it didn't live up to. Micrsofts just added customizable cloths...

Nintendo is trying to build a social network out of the Mii addons. Everything I see in Miiverse was implemented in some way on the Wii. Now it has all been brought together with full online intergration.

" Personal avatars that you can play as with other people "

i had tony hawks pro skater for ps2 years before the wii was released which allowed me to play against my friends with personalised avatars

...did the dev team for that game and the many others that have had personalised avatars for years before the wii launched all collaborate to bulid a time machine to steal nintendo's idea?

"A huge environment where the avatars gathered together and interact."

are we still talking about the wii's miis?

" the basic idea behind was to be an "improved" version of the Mii which it didn't live up to "

how so?

Having avatars is not the same at all. This is integrated into the consoles and plays accross games. Its a fundamental feature of the console. Simple games with avatars date back to the SNES era.

are we still talking about the wii's miis?

"This is integrated into the consoles and plays accross games. Its a fundamental feature of the console. "

and most importantly does not at all apply to playstation home... where the avatars like with tony hawk are confined to that particular experience...

"A huge environment where the avatars gathered together and interact."

so according to you mii parade qualifies as gathering and interacting in a huge environment...

Hence, why it didn't live up like you asked...

No the Mii channel qualief as gathering and interacting, as well as various games that use Mii. Mii parade is a demonstration of how Miiverse has built ontop of the feature.

or as common sense would dictate... it was never mean't to be that way

where is the evidence to back up your claims to the contrary?

sony never once attempted to integrate home avatars into seperate games so i don't get where you're getting these ideas from

"No the Mii channel qualief as gathering and interacting..."

ok if wanted to meet with my friends in a space to discuss a game then launch that particular game could i do so?

god that Mii channel sucked so bad, really hope they take a big step up from that

I've just skipped 3/4 of this thread because of all the arguments :p

But I like the idea they're presenting! I only hope it's as good as they make it sound

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

Lol. This argument is never going to end.

lilbroex will defend Nintendo to the death and o_O.Q will argue on and on about any claim of Nintendo accomplishing something before Sony.

?? haven't defended Nintendo once as there have been no attacks on Nintendo to defend. I'm answering the questions I was asked or was. In case you haven't noticed by my lack of responses, I'm done with it, because I'm tired of repeating the same facts over and over again to people who keep rewriting and asking the exact same quesiton.

Now, please go direct your condescending assumptions elswhere as they are wrong.

Mii channel only adds someones Mii to a Mii parade and they only does just that, parade from the top of the screen to the bottom in an endless loop with the only interaction being Miis in the same parade. No chatting, no actual social interaction what so ever between different Wii owners. Home has chatting, video viewing, game launching, minigames to play, homes to buy and furnish, additional clothing to purchase or win through the mingames, etc...

Anyone trying to claim Home was a copy from Nintendo is 100% wrong. If it were to be compared to anything, it would be compared to Second Life who... wait a minute... does this mean the Mii channel is a copy of Second Life since Home is built off of the Mii Channel even though it mostly resembles Second Life?

Wow, so confusing!

I think Second Life copied Nintendo if you want me to be honest.

Although in all honesty, how is anyone copying Nintendo in this field when they are the ones playing catch up?

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.
