To be honest, a spring 2013 release would not be bad.
Nintendo could avoid direct competition with Halo 4 and the new PS3 model.
Also It would give more time for developers to finish unannounced projects for Wii U.

Nintendo doesn't consider Sony and Microsoft competition. I'm sure they care about Halo 4 even less. Iwata has stated this many times.
Nintendo's only consern with Microsoft and Sony is the copying of their products.
The economy still sucks, coming off the global meltdown of the banking industry, and unemployment is high. Suddenly releasing a console isn't going to make tons of more people buy them. There is a cold reality that, if people are in my boat, they they may want to get a new console, but economic reality limits it. If I was doing better, I would likely of purchased a 3DS and probably a Vita to. I wouldn't of got rid of my PS3 which was backwards compatible playing PS2 games. And as much as I would want a WiiU, it isn't going to happen. I live on trade-ins now to get enough credit to get stuff.

Sessler did mention taking back a Tweet, so the info could have been in there. That would have put it in a very different light and hopefully would have changed the tone of this entire discussion to a more mature one (of course, this is VGC).
There have been rumblings about Europe, so his comment there is not off base. And he is entitled to his opinion about the WiiU potentially not being a world beater. I happen to think it will be more unique than the other consoles -- and I wonder if just improving graphics is really enough to sell someone on upgrading.
Sessler was once a very hip, fun guy to listen to with his rants. I wonder if he has been worn down by the industry. And Nintendo probably is not the easiest of companies to work with -- which I am sure colors the judgement of some "journalists."
I am Mario.I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble. Wii Friend Code: 1624 6601 1126 1492 NNID: Mike_INTV |

They might as well just can the product if they're going to do that and go back to the drawing board.
Really Wii U probably needed to be out in fall 2011 ... Nintendo just let the Wii wither and die the last year, basically they just left their whole console division out to hang.
Basically a wasted year just trying to kick start the 3DS.
The entire transition from DS/Wii to 3DS/Wii U has been poorly executed. They needed to get both the 3DS and Wii U going earlier on.
I think it's a given that the Wii U won't be delayed for the Americas. On another note, I really don't like Sessler. After seeing/hearing him on the bonus round a few months back, he sounds like a stuttering fool. Incredibly hard to listen to, much less agree with what he says.
Adam Sessler was the Editor-in-Chief at G4 for a number of years for those of you who were unaware of what he did there
Always liked this guy on the Feedback show on G4tv although he was generally the comedy relief, he has a lot of history in the business and is well respected. As much as i don't agree with what he's said here, it's not a totally outlandish statement and the man unlike Patcher will admit when he's wrong.
Seems like this forum has become a platform to sling mud at anything anti-Nintendo these days
Funny how experts always see the glass half empty with Nintendo
I respect his opinion but I hope he is wrong. I couldn't take christmas without Wii U AND Luigis Mansion. Please give me one of them.
Ongoing bet with think-man: He wins if MH4 releases in any shape or form on PSV in 2013, I win if it doesn't.

If he was referring to a delay in Europe it's possible, but it would be because the yen/euro exchange rate is so unfavourable to Nintendo that it would likely force them to have to eat a net loss on each system sold.
That I could see happening (thus the Wii U being delayed into 2013 for Europe).
