Forums - Nintendo - Team Ninja Wants To Work With Nintendo On Another Metroid Game

Don't care as long as they go no where near Zelda...NO WHERE NEAR, I don't even want to hear rumors.

I wouldn't mind having Team Ninja work on another Metroid game. Other M's gameplay wasn't perfect but with some improvements I think it could turn out great. Nintendo needs to put some restrictions on them though, to keep them from giving Samus oversized bouncy boobs and having her run around in her Zero Suit 99% of the time...

If Team Ninja gets a second chance I'd like Retro Studios to atleast give them some advice as they understands Metroid better than...anyone. To make it all wackier Tetsuya Takahashi should step in as writer. Oh yeah baby.

This might not be a good place to ask but I dont want to make another thread title, need some opinions (or facts no idea), is Metroid M's storyline related to Metroid Prime or any of the other Metroid games?

Or is it a stand alone game?

All games fit into a loose time line. While Other M explores Samus' past, it portedly happens after Super Metriod and before Fusion.

I dont really mind, just keep sakamoto at distance.

I really liked Other M. I don't know whats with all the hate. I'd be happy if they worked with team ninja again.

Looked good to me too from the little i played. People are too harsh at anything new or different at times.

well the guy that directed the game was the guy that directed the game at Retro as well isn't he? I'm pretty sure its the same guy.

the thing is people wanted a story so he gave them one. the bad thing about Other M is that it had too long cut-scenes and they where boring other than that the game play is a solid 8 for me so if team ninja makes a new one the director of Metroid should just do what he did on Metroid prime but do it in TP stile. but if Retro did it i would be way more happy of course!

No, Sakamoto had absolutely nothing to do with Metroid Prime, and his games very pointedly ignore the Prime games and their place in the continuity.

oh then I stand corrected

I don't care at all for storyline and, most importantly, I want a slow-paced, moody, adventure game. Just like Super Metroid or the first Metorid Prime. Not a superficial hack and slash with laser beams, like Other M.

I don't think it's hate so much as rather relative dislike compared to the Prime games.  Remember the original Metroid Prime was one of the very highest rated games last generation and although the sequels weren't as well received, they were still highly critically acclaimed.  It was going to be very hard for any game to match the expectations.

I for one didn't mind Other M and played it through to the end and would probably still get a sequel if it there was one but given the option of the two I would take the Retro version every day of the week and twice on Sundays.
