Which is why none of his "analyses" or "predictions" make sense to gamers... because he views things strictly from a business standpoint. When he says stuff like X game is going to sell 1 million units at launch, or Y console isn't going to do so well, it goes over the heads of gamers and right to investors, essentially telling them what they should do with their stock and investments. |
There's something you left out. He has his show and he replies to these gamers that ask him questions and even tweets insults about some gamers. I checked once before, and you can check yourself. I don't hate the guy, I just think he's talking out of his ass sometimes.

My post was explaining WHY Pachter does what he does, because every time he says something like this there's a ton of threads on every game site about it. Gamers need to understand where Pachter is coming from. The point isn't whether or not he's right or wrong with a prediction he makes or a comment on his weekly GT show, but rather why he says the things he says, because he's a business guy first and gets paid alot of money for his financial analysis and advice.
That said, he definitely has a bias against Nintendo. I remember during one of the E3 Bonus Round shows on GT he was saying how terrible the 3DS was doing in sales, and then Shane pointed out that in fact the 3DS was outselling the original DS at the same point in its lifespan, and Pachter just dismissed it as "spin". Made me laugh out loud.
