Forums - PC - Dark Souls sucks...on PC

I already preordered it but god this port is going to get abysmal reviews and piss poor word of mouth. Then they'll blame that PC games just don't sell and never try to port a game again.

And in turn exclusive PC gamers always blame the quality of the games to explain for the low sales and the undependability they display as a market.

Pure laziness, as usual. PC gets the short end of the stick because of low sales expectations and the sting of rampant piracy

I can understand the framerate, but the resolution is disappointing.

The game is there. The content is there. If you don't want to play it because it won't have Ultra grafixxz, then you made your choice to miss out. A prime example of PC elitists.

Gaming on: PS4 Pro, Switch, SNES Mini, Wii U, PC (i5-7400, GTX 1060)

No, this one appears to be slightly better but slightly better is still a disgrace. I was not going to buy it without big improvements anyway. Now just hoping for mods or patches.

So a slightly better framerate vs. bigger, better more dedicated userbase, completely hack and cheat free, and much easier and better controls on a bigger screen (dont even try to convince me how WASD is better than analog stick, especially for this game) and bother bringing up accessories, because it only proves PC version sucks on its own

reading posts like this, i wonder why people talk about pc gaming if they have absolutley no clue about it. i mean, why are you talking about controller and bigger screen and bad wasd if you can play the same game on pc on the same tv-screen with the same controller? just put your ps3 hdmi cable out of your ps3 and in your pc or buy one for 5€ and you have your tv-experience. that's btw what i also do because i don't like keyboard/mouse combination for some games. but you know my advnatage then? i can play the same game (the witcher 2 right now) on my tv with 1080p (to make pictures i play on my pc screen) with much better graphics. and that's what i would like to do with dark souls, that's how a normal port should work.

and btw, most people who play "seriously" on pc have a bigger picture (or same size) than people playing on a tv. the screen is way smaller but the viewing distance is so close that in reality the picture is bigger or the same as if you play on your 50'' tv from whatever distance.

i just wonder and would like to know, how big is your tv-screen and your viewing distance? i don't really believe you have a real advantage with your screen to people playing one 22''+ pc-screen

I expect a certain level of craftsmanship in the games that I'm presented; when those expectations are not met, I do not make a purchase.

This is not a statement about the principle of PC development. It is not about sending a message.

It's that what they did is not good enough to justify my money when I could be playing something else.

PC gamers are a funny crowd to me. a game that was ugly on ps3 get's ported to their platform of choice with improvements and all they can say is it is an unacceptable disaster.

meanwhile, minecraft is hyped as the best game ever.

It's actually the worse version of it, once you include the fact that computer monitors don't scale as well as TVs, that you get booted out of the game if your framerate goes below 15fps for more than 30 seconds (I think), it comes shackled to Games for Windows Live which is a crime in and of itself, and it does not even render in widescreen

Its native render isn't in widescreen but it can probably scale to most common PC resolutions, including 1920x1080, don't you think?

People looking at the options menu have reported that no, you cannot. It just stretches your image.

Now you are just trolling

Check out my hype threads: Cyberpunk, and The Witcher 3!

"We'll fix it"

Who's this "we?" What mods and hacks do any of "we" contribute?

Meh... could be worse. Anyone remember the Resident Evil 4 port?

Worst case scenario, you get an experience no better or worse than PS360 owners had.
