I already preordered it but god this port is going to get abysmal reviews and piss poor word of mouth. Then they'll blame that PC games just don't sell and never try to port a game again.

No, this one appears to be slightly better but slightly better is still a disgrace. I was not going to buy it without big improvements anyway. Now just hoping for mods or patches. |
So a slightly better framerate vs. bigger, better more dedicated userbase, completely hack and cheat free, and much easier and better controls on a bigger screen (dont even try to convince me how WASD is better than analog stick, especially for this game) and bother bringing up accessories, because it only proves PC version sucks on its own

False statements, you can use a gamepad on PC (dualshock, x360 controller whatever your heart desires) and you can use your PC on a TV...
The userbase is a lot less relevant in dark soul's compared to demon soul's, because it became P2P instead of having a dedicated server and other issues, and is just generally crappier than the demon soul's version.
And yes, I've played for hours and hours on xbox already... so bleh. And demon soul's longer on PS3.
PC gamers are a funny crowd to me. a game that was ugly on ps3 get's ported to their platform of choice with improvements and all they can say is it is an unacceptable disaster.
meanwhile, minecraft is hyped as the best game ever.

This post just goes to show how little you know about PC gaming. Research it, or something. How many are playing Dark Souls PS3 currently? Right, you don't know. Lulz at "better, more dedicated" and "completely hack and cheat free". |
I put over 600 hours in this game. I have builds at level 18, 50, 67, 125, 167, 250, 363 and 710, and i always find tons of players playing in Burg and darkroot garden. And unlike xbox version, ps3 version is completely hack free, but just wait until you see pc port... i wouldn't even dare touching online portions. As for more dedicated part, i just meant that it has the biggest userbase and that most DmS veterans are on PS3, hence its more dedicated.
As for bigger userbase, PS3 version sold 1.13 M, the 360 version did 0.49 and PC probably wont make half of that

Do you have a link to where people talk about the framerate problems? |
Sorry, I've been away all day. Anyway, things like this:
"In terms of the PC version, the quick answer is no, [we won't be fixing the frame rate problems]. Because we wanted to get the PC version out as soon as possible, it's more strictly a port from the console version. We haven't been able to step up into doing any specific optimisation for PC.

starcraft: "I and every PS3 fanboy alive are waiting for Versus more than FFXIII.
Me since the games were revealed, the fanboys since E3."

Skeeuk: "playstation 3 is the ultimate in gaming acceleration"

It's actually the worse version of it, once you include the fact that computer monitors don't scale as well as TVs, that you get booted out of the game if your framerate goes below 15fps for more than 30 seconds (I think), it comes shackled to Games for Windows Live which is a crime in and of itself, and it does not even render in widescreen
It doesn't have any discernible advantages over the console versions, and that's steps beyond bizarre.
A shame. I was looking forward to revisiting Dark Souls' world in higher resolution with improved lighting.
I'll just revisit it in my mind instead.

i won't argue about the games for windows live part but i went though the tomb of the giants at what i'd guess is about 10 fps most of the time. if that's fixed and it sounds like it is you have the superior version. i looked at the full screen too....yes the game really is that ugly. didn't matter though 'cause it is soo damn fun. anyways...
