Forums - Nintendo - Will the Wii U be able to do what the Wii did not? Keep gamers interested~

All I know is that it won't do as good as Wii did.

That's all we can tell so far.

I would consider that a win for me...

I would want it to do as good as the PS3 has done and continues to do. That is where a gaming whale like me found the most value. Lots of new IPs, HD remakes of PS2 classics, quality and quantity. First couple of years of PS3 were attrocious with lack of software and poor quality ports... after that it has been gaming nirvana.

I would love for the Wii U to be completely ignored and rejected by the Casuals. This will force Nintendo to make more games that I care about and third parties also wont be talking about how they supported it by bringing Carnival Games to it and how hugely successful that was.

Forget about the author, he is obviously some low level deuche bag on whatever site I found this on. The question is in the title and the rest is just filler to give you an"idea" of what is going on.

Wii did great sales wise, but how much can you play mario, wii sports and SSB? There were obviously many other good games, but I cannot believe that everyone never had any problems with releases with the wii. The last three years it has been lacking.

i think there were some people who were satisfied with just that.

What the Hell did this say? Censorship is bullshit. Or was this the original post and Caravello is just trying to be funny?

I saw it before the mod decide to erase (but not ban him for it?). It was pretty much one of his typical anti-Nintendo trolls.

Something along the line of "Haha, the Wii U is getting nothing but bad news. Thats a sign that its doomed. How do look like that all of you Nintendo fanboys over here?". I remember him making some comment about the all of the negative news reports and calling this section a bunch of Nintendo fanboys. There was someting about Nintendo failing pr and something about low Wii sales. It was someting along those lines only longer and more bitter. Just look at his post history to get a general idea.

I think it'll have a stronger, more consistent library, and it'll keep the fanbase hooked for longer. But it won't sell nearly as well as Wii, I think it'll do half of what Wii will do.

I think it will do twice what the PS4 and Durango combined will do, though.

I disagree.. I see it more sustaining than the Wii. It seems like it will be like a DS, a slow burner, but might explode later on. Not saying it will pass the DS, but it might edge the Wii, especially with the poor sales from the console

hahaha I highly doubt that. Anything can happen though.

It was that Way with the Wii and its getting a head start by a least a year.  I remember that you couldn't find a Wii on a shelf for like the first 2 years after its release. It would be interesting if that happens again.

I am with Spurgeonryan on this one. Of all the consoles I have bought since the 8 bit days, the Wii was the biggest disappointment over the long term. Yes, I enjoyed it for a short period after purchase, but I have never packed a console back in its box during its life cycle, and this is where the Wii ultimately went, back in its box. Perhaps I am over playing yet another iteration of a Nintendo franchise, I mean how many times can you play another version of Mario Kart, and that applies to almost all Nintendo games, they are just more of the same.
As someone who rarely hesitates when it comes to buying the next console, the Wii experience has made me cautious when it comes the next Nintendo platform, so Wii U will not be an immediate purchase and may never be purchased.
