Im sorry but did you play LBP PSP? Because you are wrong. It was NOT a port of the PS3 game, which is probably why it did as well as it did. THe game had a completly different campaign, different items different everything. But i agree with whatever else you are saying, you shouldnt waste your time IMHO, it would be the same argument getting nowhere, they will give Mario a pass, because it is Mario and we know he can do no wrong. They say he has a proven track record, well hell, how can you have a track record if you dont even try?? Funny thing is when AC was announced for 3DS intially no one said anything about it not belonging on portable, no one was saying anything about COD on DS either. Imagine that.

@spurgeonryan  its a decent list and I agree, not many system sellers, but so what? Not every game will be one, Isnt it enough that its good. I would buy the orginal games on the list(AC and COD) because i CANT get them anywhere else. Sure you can make the argument that you could play the console counterpart, but why did you buy MK7 then? COuld you not have played the console counterpart

Yes, I agree. It was not really all about system sellers. I did add in there twice I think that most of these games will just give people more and more reasons to buy the Vita.  Something that I wish the 3DS would do more of. Sure Japan gets a worthwhile game every week, but we are month by month here. These may not be system sellers by themselves, but once you add them all together plus the games that have come out since launch they combine to make it very worth while!

fair enough, but just for the sake of curiosity, whats your problem with 3DS? I think what has released so far has been pretty adequate. IVe had mine for about 5 months and ive only bought Mario3DLand, MK7, and KH. But thats enough for me. Do your really need to have a new game every month? Would you even buy one every month

@saviorX at least you admit it, i'll give you that.

"There is still a stigma that the handheld editions are downports of the console iterations" that only seems to apply to non Ninty handhelds, but considering what you've already stated, this isnt surprising

I'd even go a little further than that and say it only applies to THIRD-PARTY software on Nintendo handhelds and on non-Nintendo handhelds.

Leatherhat on July 6th, 2012 3pm. Vita sales:"3 mil for COD 2 mil for AC. Maybe more. "  thehusbo on July 6th, 2012 5pm. Vita sales:"5 mil for COD 2.2 mil for AC."

I would not, but I am not the world. My examples are the HD twins. They have 2-4 releases a month. Minimum. Japan gets or has been getting 4-6 3DS games a month. We are lucky to get 1 a month. I have kept all my Wii games, but I have not done the same with my 3DS. I still have Zelda, Kid Icarus and Mario Tennis. I play Kid Icarus occasionally. I traded Mario Kart 7 for Icarus. Probably a bad decision. The games are not in America yet. If someone were to buy it now instead of month one, then it would be worth it. As of right now I find myself waiting for the next game. I may even purchase Heroes of Ruin if it comes down to it. Which may not be a bad decision. First year gets weekely DLC updates. Like I said in my "Red Headed Step child thread", Japan and Europe is for some reason getting the gold and America is getting not much of anything. For those of you who bought the game this year or even at Christmas you are probably not too disappointed. You had to catch up with all the games that came out before you got it and the games that are currently coming out. As I said about the Vita up above. All the games together make it a worth while handheld. Mario Tennis was forgettable for me. So to me there was not a good game for about two months on the 3DS between titles.

I thought I was the only one who thought Mario Tennis was meh. I could see your point about people who just got it the last Xmas or later, but then I woudl say; and dont take this the wrong way; thats your fault. No one made you buy the 3DS at launch or close to launch, you made an assumption that games would be falling in right and left, you were kinda wrong. Cant blame Ninty or 3rd parties for that. You can blame Ninty for region locking that might have eased your pain.

Your comparison to the consoles are not apt, they are consoles, they traditionally get more attention than the handhelds, i dont see why you would think that would change. There have been alot of games released in the US, now if any of those are worth a damn thats up for debate. Japan is 3DS country, and thats where its most popular so thats where most of the support will go and come from. Its aint great but thats the way it is.

I think we just have a different idea of what a portable should be. Im perfectly fine with only having bought 3 games for my 3DS hell i haven  even opened KH yet, because I mostly use my portables when im out. and how much games am I going to play when am out? Ill probably get Mario and Luigis mansion when they released and thats it.  Same thing with Vita, I only bought Ninja Gaiden, Gravity Rush and Uncharted. I'll probably be getting more games for it than 3DS but even then im already satisfied with both. I dont mean to be forward, but IMHO you're not doing it right, if you want that much releases why not just get the one of the consoles, which are more frequent?

Doesnt surprise me that you would think this not at all.  So really its just Ninty>everyone else on handhelds. Its biased, but its honest

off topic
i like very much MT open
i dont know why you guys dont like it, the multiplayer and minigames are great, the controls work perfectly and the mechanics, although didnt like them at first, make the gameplay more challenging for the mp
i would give it a solid 8

i didnt even mentioned the nice customization and great grafix

Eh, its only because Nintendos the only one Ive seen pull it off.

Sega has done it occasionally with Sonic (Colors, Olympics) and Rockstar found success with the PSP Grand Theft Auto games, but I have rarely seen others achieve that same console-handheld transition on a SALES level.

This is where I've always thought cross platform is a make-or-break for Sony. The problem with that is they're marketing essentially to the same gamers who already enjoy these practically same type of games which are on the consoles, or worse, the PS3.

What makes Mario special is because Nintendo has managed to establish their mascot with a crossover personality. It works not only because they market for ALL but it's strategically placing Mario by experiencing Mario in different genres.
It's not necessarily nostalgia but at times it's just the simple reason of we're used to it since NES and Gameboy came out.

3DS is innovation and Vita is not. 3DS is creative and Vita is 'graphix lol'. It looks like people would rather graphics than innovation on the home consoles, but when it comes to portable entertainment creativity wins.

Games can and should tell stories and share ideas through their mechanics. This is the intrinsic element of the medium and this is how experiences should be crafted in video games. No company does this as well as Nintendo and their echoes from the past.
