I'm biased; I wasn't a fan of the first LBP on the PS3 - I felt anxious and a wave of tedium while trying to play it. I question how well a handheld edition will push Vita.
There is still a stigma that the handheld editions are downports of the console iterations.

That's pretty much what I was getting at.
People don't want to play these derivative waterdowned ports of a console game.
CoD on Vita will be the same as on PS3. Sure, there'll be a different story but who plays CoD for the story?
Or LBP, it'll just be the exact same mechanics and gameplay as on the console.
But NSMB2 for example has the new coin rush mode unavailable anywhere else (brief example).
So all these Vita games I'll just end up getting their "older brother" for my PS3.

Jeez, that is great. I mean, it's not like LBP Vita has touch screen functionality now, which PS3 isn't capable of providing. But a new mode for Mario is something else...jesus

I can see that I have clearly upset you and I apologize for that.
In my defense, there is more than just coin rush mode, but the whole idea behind the game is a new idea for a Mario game - collect a million coins. There are new power-ups that help you achieve that ectera. (Nintendo also basically took the 3D out because it's a side-scroller and didn't feel the need to tack it on just because it could.)
The first LBP was totally innovative but tacking on touch controls to a console game being played on a handheld is kind of lame. (Similar to the tacked on touch controls for Uncharted - which I prefer on the big screen.)
And this is why the Vita fails. Derivative console games on a handheld is not what the people want - but I'll let the sales numbers to the talking, I guess. I'm not trying to convince you of anything - just my opinion.
