Then we are the same! I picked:

Squirtle, Chikorita, Mudkip (Of COURSE!), Piplup, and Mijumaru (I like it's Japanese names better.)

1st gen: squirt
2nd gen: chiko
3rd: mudkip
4th: chimchar
5h: oshawott

i like grass but in-game they are pretty weak
i wish they would have more than 3 choices on 6th gen

Chimchar, and yes, his final evolution, Infernape, is awesome xD.

am I the only one who actually takes the time and effort to get all three starters right from the get-go? I don't like having to pick...so I don't.

I've done it before... but not again because I'm way too OCD and I would try to get perfect natures for all of them... which would take forever.

I've done it twice. Once for the second and third gen each. Only because my brother wanted to and it was easier with my help so I figured i'd do the same. I remember it getting annoying for the third time around in the 3rd gen and I kept hitting the A button during starter selection and everything so I ended up with a Torchic named AAAAAAAA.

I try to avoid choosing the same type twice in a row.

I usually choose-
R/B/FR/LG- I don't really care, because I like all the starters, but Squirtle is my favourite so I choose him most often.
G/S/C/HG/SS- Chikorita is my favourite, so her most of the time. Although Cyndaquil/Totodile are both cool.
R/S/E- No preference, I like them all equally so I usually just do eenie-meenie-minie-mo with two of them, excluding whoever I had last time.
D/P/PT- Piplup all the way. Turtwig isn't bad by any means, but Piplup is boss. Chimchar was the first starter I really didn't like, so I've only ever used it once.
B/W/B2/W2- I really didn't like any of the Gen V starters, I've never used Snivy because I dislike it's look, Oshawott would be my favourite here, but the starters are probably the worst Gen V pokemon of all.
