@spurgeonryan: i think metacritic determines the sites they use based on how many reviews they pump out but give more weight to some reviewers than others...its a stupid broken convoluted system that doesn't make much sense
| Pokemonbrawlvg said: As if Jim Sterling didn't troll us enough with Mario Kart 7 and Kid Icarus: Uprising. His legacy strikes once again with New Super Mario Bros. 2. He gave it a 7. "New Super Mario Bros. 2 is good. It was always going to be good, because Nintendo makes good games. That was never in doubt. However, it's a markedly more vacuous experience, bereft as it is of fresh gameplay and rigidly sticking to a formula with such zeal one would almost believe it a religious imperative of the developers. The coin collecting silliness may alter the player's approach somewhat, but it is nonetheless superficial and many players will doubtless get bored of it before hitting their million. The gimmick serves as an allegory for the entire game, really -- a glittering distraction, lacking any real substance." "At its core, New Super Mario Bros. 2 is a Mushroom Kingdom coin -- shiny and addictive, but carrying no practical value whatsoever." http://www.destructoid.com/review-new-super-mario-bros-2-232194.phtml |
Trolling? Is he not allowed to have a different opinion? Did you even read the revew? He says the game is good, just unoriginal. Which is 100% true, it looks exactly like NSMB1. Just because Jim Sterling factors in originality in his reviews does not make him a troll. And how is a 7 out of 10 suddenly a bad score, that seems very generous for an unoriginal and uninspired game.
Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

Nope. I can count a lot of great reviews for Kingdom Hearts 3D outside of the ones on the site and it'll most likely even out of a 79 or 80. They don't add all sites, but sites that are well known. But the mess up thing is, they sometimes add scores from lower ended sites! Kid Icarus's only "negative" score was from Gameshark. The link they provided doesn't even go the review, it goes to the Mad Catz official website! I'm not joking! What's the deal with adding fake reviews!

It was meant as a sacristic response to Mario Kart 7 and Kid Icarus: Uprising. I really think a 7 is good score.

Lol, that's right! If you take that 42 score (the worse I've ever seen) the game almost jumps at least 2 or 3 pts up!
I was expecting this much... (the scores I mean)

And proud member of the Mega Mario Movement!
Man, this game looks like fun. Can't wait!
And it's gonna take all I have to refrain from buying the XL when I pick up Mario (I'm waiting for a color I want here in the States).

Well... you heard 'em; the game sucks. Just don't get it!
(Kidding of course!)
Hey, leave Jim Sterling alone. His review was incredibly solid, and he praised it. His review sold me on it, even! I don't care if it's unoriginal; I just want it to be fun.
I think you guys get hung up on scores a touch too much. That's why Metacrtitic is bad, because people see the scores; and if it's below 85 it must be terrible, even if 99% of the reviews praise and love it...
