Forums - Movies & TV - *SPOILERS* How did Batman_____at the end of The Dark Knight Rises?

Dead or Alive?

Died a hero and didn't l... 4 20.00%

Lives but told nobody but Selina and Alfred 12 60.00%

Why so serious? (See the results) 4 20.00%

Total:20

here is my theory:

At the end of the movie Lucius Fox and his mechanics were examining the Batchopper, which apparently cannot be the same chopper Batman used because that one was at the ground zero of a nuclear blast and was promptly vaporized, so obviously Fox had made more than 1 chopper; so during the final segment, Batman was actually flying a different chopper, he was remotely controlling the chopper that carried the bomb (firing missiles and maneuvers), since he fixed the auto pilot, obviously he can also hack & mod it in the process, so the chopper that got blew up along with the bomb was remotely controlled by Batman, and he was flying away in another chopper (presumably with Catwoman next to him) to the opposite direction at the same time.

So why didn't Bane and his goons take the other "Bat chopper"?

Maybe It was hidden on top of another building.

or

Remember Fox says it's very hard to drive the thing without autopilot...only a great mind can. Maybe Bruce is the only mind that can drive it.

I asked the judges and they said we can accept that.  We also would have accepted "There was another one in the Batcave and after Batman died, they took it back to Wayne Enterprises."

Sometimes, I have an answer in my head but I like to see what other people are thinking.

I hate all these stupid people saying that the ending might have been a dream. Alfred said he does go to Paris not that he daydreams of going to Paris. This isn't Inception people. I bet Nolan going to wish he never made the ending opened because now retards are going to say every movie he make might have an ending up to interpretation.

Good done!

Let us quickly lock this thread before anyone comes up with any other inaccuracies.

The movie is perfect!

the chopper Batman used was hidden on a rooftop, it makes sense for other choppers to be hidden on rooftops as well, bad guys only managed to break into the vault, but there were hundreds of thousands of rooftops in Gotham for Fox to hid his choppers, since he was in charge of the company that built half the city.

Even if they did find them, keep in mind that Bane only had a small amount of followers in the beginning, the majority of his army were common Gotham thugs that got busted from the jail, it is unlikely any of them can fly an ordinary chopper, let along the uber expensive ultra complex badass prototype Batchopper.

But did Alfred ever say which cafe in Paris?  And how would you react if somebody apparently died and suddenly, you saw them at your favorite restaurant?  If I went to McDonald's and saw Tupac there, I'd be like "HOLY FUCK!  I THOUGHT YOU WERE DEAD!!"  I wouldn't just take a sip of my coke and nod my head.  I'd also quit smoking marijuana because, apparently, I was really fucked up.

I think the ending really is open for interpretation and there is no wrong answer.  It's just as easy for me to come up with a scenario where Batman lived as it is for me to come up with one where he is dead.  Luckily, I subscribe to the #1 rule of comic books:  "If there is no body, then there is no death"

Sounds plausible but too convenient. If Batman had all that set up ahead of time then why not just fly the bomb over the ocean to begin with? That would've made more sense as logistically speaking the coast got burnt up (it was still within the radius).
