Ok lets get the obvious out of the way first, no its not a better superhero movie than TDK but that's only because the TDK is in a class of its own. For me i will put it below the TDK definitely and also below Avengers, still a good movie it just has a few problems.

Will have to continue this post.

That is not the obvious part. In fact, you putting TDKR below Avengers is anything but obvious lol.

I only said it was obvious that it is below TDK,  I never said it  was  obviously below avengers I meant that as my opnion. I thought that was pretty clear in my post.

Oh, I thought that since you began with:

"lets get the obvious out of the way first"

and then ended with:

"Will have to continue this post"

that it meant that this whole post was the obvious part ;o

oh yea I actually continued it in the Rate TDKR rises thread lol

If Warner Bros are gonna use "Justice LEague" to introduce the new "Batman" then they're doomed and have gone back to making absolutely stupid decisions with their comic book properties.

Before they can go the Justice League route, they have to make sure their Superman reboot is relevent to the audience.

True, Man Of Steel is an extremely important movie from them. I hope for their sake at the least they don't screw this one up.

I don't have much faith in WB or Snyder though. Nolan producing the movie & Goyer writing the script is the only reason to have hope.

I didn't follow Snyder's carreer much, but I've seen Watchmen and 300, and I thought he did a stellar job with the source material.  And then I saw Sucker Punch not knowing what I was getting myself into, and was pleasantly surprised.

I like the end result of these movies, the direction for them was well handled, and his cinematography is really breath taking.  I really like the way he directs the shot angles, how his action scenes look so dynamic.  So I don't share your skepticism.

And then there's Cavill, which I really liked in The Count of Monte Cristo and Immortals.  And after seeing both Cavill and Snyder's panel at this year's Comic Con, I feel the character is in good passionate hands, respectful of the source material.  The fact that they approach the project with the "there's never been a Superman movie before" mindset is a far cry from Singer's clumsy and fanboyish hands. Indeed, it's a real plus that Goyer and Nolan were involved in the writing process of the movie.

It won't take much relevance for the audience it just has to make enough money and be good enough, not necessarily well recieved but good enough to warrant sequels, much like Thor, Captain America and The Incredible Hulk.

To be relevant to an audience means that said audience will go see the movie. ¬_¬

And Superman Returns made about the same amount as 2 of the movies you mentioned (Hulk's numbers are abysmal), yet the franchise is getting a reboot.

WB wants Superman to be a pillar for them. They want to make the character relevant again, like he was in the 80s.  Below 400m isn't enough to satisfy and convince them, judging by how they weren't satisfied with SR's figures.

It gets a 7/10 from me. Not near as good as Batman:The Dark Knight. Was highly disapointed after walking out of the cinema.

So it looks like most of the people voting feel like the film was worth 8-10! I personally voted 10 because I feel that it's just that good, slightly better than TDK. Going to see it again soon so I can judge it a second time. Will also watch Avengers when it comes out on Blu-Ray since some of you insist it is incredible but I just didn't see it when I watched it.

I don't think that getting avengers on blu-ray will change your opinion its not the type of movie that grows on you.
