If Warner Bros are gonna use "Justice LEague" to introduce the new "Batman" then they're doomed and have gone back to making absolutely stupid decisions with their comic book properties.

Before they can go the Justice League route, they have to make sure their Superman reboot is relevent to the audience.

It won't take much relevance for the audience it just has to make enough money and be good enough, not necessarily well recieved but good enough to warrant sequels, much like Thor, Captain America and The Incredible Hulk.

To be relevant to an audience means that said audience will go see the movie. ¬_¬

And Superman Returns made about the same amount as 2 of the movies you mentioned (Hulk's numbers are abysmal), yet the franchise is getting a reboot.

WB wants Superman to be a pillar for them. They want to make the character relevant again, like he was in the 80s.  Below 400m isn't enough to satisfy and convince them, judging by how they weren't satisfied with SR's figures.

Yes but we're talking about Justice League here as well, not just Man of Steel. Superman Returns wasn't meant to have a sequel. If you read up on it you will find that it was actually already a sequel or so I read somewhere and WB never had any plans for another one, until Man Of Steel. Now with new plans on Justice League apparently booted up it would only take a modest sum to warrant a sequel say $200-$250, but we all know its going to make more than that anyway. Look at Batman Begins numbers, nowhere near the huge stellar blockbuster category but it still got its sequel and that's without plans for a Justice League movie. Whatever WB does from now on with relation to Justice League it will stick and whatever Man of Steel makes it will warrant a sequel as long as its figures are comparable to its rivals. If Man of Steel only makes as much as Thor/CA/TIH then thats fine because WB knows they will still be very financially successful in the long run with the Justice League tie in. Look at how much Thor/CA/TIH made then look at how much Avengers made.

This video actually points out a very interesting things about Nolan films (he reviews the dark knight but talks a lot about how Nolan makes his movies). I dont agree with all his points but it is interesting to watch, and i agree with some of them (but i still think dark knight was amazing). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fx3rlE3MVxE

At least these films are better than inception (fucking hate that movie)

And also looking forward to watching the Dark Knight Rises next week!! :D

Agreed with OP, The Dark Knight Rises managed to be even better than TDK. A Batman movie where Batman is the central figure and the most interesting character, indeed he rises. Catwoman was brilliant.

Nolan did it again, The Dark Knight Legend is among the perfect trilogy club: Star Wars, Toy Story, Lord of the rings.

Why does everyone forget Bourne Trilogy or does that not count anymore?

I liked the movie :) but there were definitely some flaws, and it wasn't done as good as the second one. There seems to be a general consensus around the interwebs and real life imo. So yeah not best superhero movie of all time :/

The flaws:

- story dragged at times
- movie was all over the place (needed more "focus")
- couldnt hear half of what bane said, this seems to be a common issue thought it was just me and my pepl who watched it. The thing is he had some amazing lines...this isnt really an action movie and the lines and script are very important, so not hearing half of it was shitty.
- lacked some epicness... (dont ask me to explain)
- everytime someone walked into the theatre thought it was a gunmen :/ got a bit nervous

The epicness:

- bane was epic really took the show for me!!! a worthy joker replacement :) some people dont seem to be giving him enough credit. It blew my mind when i realised this was Tom Hardy! Same thing happend when i found out it was heath ledger who payed the joker. I love the transformations the actors undergo to really bring out the characters. AMAZING :)
- Sound (except for not hearing banes voice), visuals, production values, vistas, effects, score, acting - ALL TOP NOTCH! As expected from a Nolan movie :)
- all round good movie

Theres a lot to be said about the movie, but i think it just lacked that extra bit that made TDK a classic, epic movie. And i think thats how most people who are not complete fanatics will view it.

I'm about 5:00 minutes into his "review" and I already think he is an over-educated moron ... Someone who believes since he sat and listened to lectures about movie making styles he knows more about them than those making them successfully. In general, I agree with him that the Dark Knight isn't a perfect movie but I think he is focused on being far too critical and missing the forest for the trees ...

Why is Bruce Wayne so physically broken in TDKR? I mean I know he fell alongside Two Face in TDK but surely Brune Wayne, the richest man in Gotham City, could afford some kind of knee repair? That was kind of dumb.

Yeah i thought his argument about the joker was actually the reason i liked the joker, but i did think the china bit could have been cut out of the movie. And now that i think about it i guess you cant really call it a review :P But like i said just put it there because i thought it was kind of interesting at some points.
