True, Man Of Steel is an extremely important movie from them. I hope for their sake at the least they don't screw this one up. I don't have much faith in WB or Snyder though. Nolan producing the movie & Goyer writing the script is the only reason to have hope. |
I didn't follow Snyder's carreer much, but I've seen Watchmen and 300, and I thought he did a stellar job with the source material. And then I saw Sucker Punch not knowing what I was getting myself into, and was pleasantly surprised.
I like the end result of these movies, the direction for them was well handled, and his cinematography is really breath taking. I really like the way he directs the shot angles, how his action scenes look so dynamic. So I don't share your skepticism.
And then there's Cavill, which I really liked in The Count of Monte Cristo and Immortals. And after seeing both Cavill and Snyder's panel at this year's Comic Con, I feel the character is in good passionate hands, respectful of the source material. The fact that they approach the project with the "there's never been a Superman movie before" mindset is a far cry from Singer's clumsy and fanboyish hands. Indeed, it's a real plus that Goyer and Nolan were involved in the writing process of the movie.
