Three of my absolute favorites.

Lords of the Realm II (1995) - a turn based + RTS combo strategy game just like the Total War series.

I had that one.  That was fun.

Cool. It was like crack, I couldn't put it down even when I had important school work. "Just one more turn".

My first 6 PC games were

- Sid Meier's Civilization
- Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis (aka Indy 4) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u-5xx2cPZNU
- The Secret of Monkey Island
- Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge
- Dune II – Battle for Arrakis http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tppjzT-su0Q
- Formula One Grand Prix (by Geoff Crammond) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hRBtemavXt8

I bought them all in 1993. Yep, I started with a bunch of masterpieces, mainly thanks to a great, in Germany among PC gamers somewhat legendary gaming magazine. One of their writers is today considered a pioneer in game localization and was responsible for the German translation of 7 Lucasfilm Games (new name from 1991 onwards: LucasArts Entertainment) adventure games from 1987/Maniac Mansion to 1992/Indy 4.

MicroProse, LucasArts, Westwood Studios. Those were the days.

I didn't play much PC at all during the 90s. My most fond memories though are from GTA 2 and Settlers III (which is an awesome strategy game, in case you didn't know).

It really isn't until recently that I have even bothered a little bit about PC gaming.

I remember playing Sonic CD and Gex on the PC. As well as Hellbender, Lords of the Realm 2, Heroes of Might and Magic 2, Some HoMM-like game I don't remember the name of (You could upgrade the monk unit to either heal more powerfully or heal the entire army), Red Alert, and Creative Writer.

Amazing game.^

I LOVE ICELAND!

PC gaming started for me in 1985.
The first game I remember playing on pc is

Except we didn't have a color monitor yet so it was just green and dark green instead. Didn't miss much there :)
That pc had a 0.8 mhz processor, 640kb memory and 2 10mb hdd's

Next to that I played rogue and the original king's quest. I should still have the map I made somewhere.

Again I only know it in green and black ofcourse

I played that so much, never won if you can win anyway.

I played this one even more, true adventure game

I really wish some of the new games would have this 8 bit soundtracks

On of the oldest games I can think of is Heroes of might and Magic 2
I had Serious Sam but never finished, always got sick playing it damn First person camera

I don´t if anyone of you knew the austrian publisher JoWood but they had an awesome called "Die Völker"

Most of my videogame memories are from console games.

Lets see, my early PC experiences consisted of:
Doom I & II
Wolfenstein 3D
Xargon (early Epic when they were still known as Epic Megagames)
Prince of Persia (yes the original 2D one)
Duke Nukem 3D
Lotus
Chips Challenge
Rise of the Triad

When I actually got a PC of my own:
Quake I & II
Age of Empires
StarCraft
Half-Life
Tomb Raider I & II

It's amazing how much Dune II looked like an early version of Command & Conquer.

Some of these games I've never played, but with the movies you guys are posting I get to see a lot of VG history it's so much fun.

I watched KQ1's walkthrough part 1, Lord of the realms Let's play until he conquered Quaintville, and some of the rogue games. I also watched the hellbender, warlords and rogue videos. Very interesting to watch.

Here are some other games I used to play:

And okr, I played Indy 3 on PC, so much fun:

My first gaming contact with PC was Test Drive franchise, in late 80s. At the time, most of peeps around me (myself included) had either Amiga 500 or Atari ST at homes, except for this one guy. Poor bloke, the amount of jest he had to endure from us over inferior graphics and (especially) sound of his 386...;)

Much later (1996) I got my first PC, and from that early days titles I remember the most are Duke Nukem 3D, Tomb Raider series, Settlers series, Warcraft, Fallout 1/2, Sim (City/Earth/Life) games, X-Wing/Tie Fighter, Half Life, numerous titles from then still ongoing golden age of P&C adventure games and uncountable others.

Now, where's that DOSBox...
