Do you remember Person Posting Above You IV and You're Banned? Those are the biggest spam threads I have ever seen. Supermario128 got from 5000 to 10,000 in a month using those. And those have been around since at least 2009.

My gripes are mainly about the sales topics Kantor. I know weve had (and always will have) spam threads, its just annoying to see sales discussion die on a sales website.

It is quite sad. I don't really know why though. What can you really do? Cookies didn't even work.

I agree! The reasons for it are really hard to put a finger on. Back in 2006 I used to follow the sales chartz really closely. But now that the forums helped me put my fanboy pride aside, I've been finding less reason of wanting one console to do better than another, especially when they're all mostly doing ok.

But that's just me. And plus, the tools are really leaving us wanting. Kowenicki put a ton of work in his Vita vs 3DS graphs, and I had to do some excel work to give Rol the Mario graphs. It wasn't a huge job, but still it wasn't straightforward. My VGAnalyz thread also required lots of work, but few joined in the discussion because "it talked about the past". I think few are really interested in actually putting in the effort. idk

@OP. Keep it up Ryan, I think you're bringing alot of good to the site and have improved a hell of alot.

You do realize those are the threads that died in July. Not the ones that were started in July. Any big threads in July probably lasted to later months because they were big threads. So yeah, not really proof of anything.

Also, listing a few random threads that did poorly is hardly proof of anything. I could get low post-count threads from this year and I could get high post-count threads from last year. And vice versa. Not sure how this is remotely conclusive.

And besides, people were never complaining about a lack of activity. Don't label me as a 'complainer' but people were complaining a lack of deep discussion. They say its too much spam going on.
