how many losses in the last 5 years? |
How many people said that SCE has been profitable since the last 5 years again?

Right, we're all Microsoft fanboys here, eh? SCE has been making a loss most of the years since the PS3 launch.

I also think they are losing money on some software studios.. a few of them have produced games with medicore sales |
Most should be profitable, the cost to make a game is about 15 million for a normal game and about 50 million for a really high production game. So even if it cost them 50 million which is high balling it for all there games, out of the $60 for the game I think Sony get's around $20, in order to break even they would have to sell about 2.5 million copies of a game which most Sony exclusive manage to exceed (especially the big game), again that's high balling it most games are around $15 maybe $20 million to make which is around 850K copies of a game sold.
To make a loss that big I doubt the Studios had anything to do with it.

That is the point I was addressing. I think I will know what point I am addressing better than you, -_-

difference is sony is already bleeding money from every other divison. Its video game division was supposedly its one shining hope when it posted 1 year of profit a while ago, but turns out that year might have been a fluke. The ps3 has not come close to breaking even and their entertainment divison is still losing money.
Microsoft on the other hand has plenty of very profitable divisons, and the xbox 360 as a whole has been profitable for a few years, and already made up all its initial losses, though it hasn't made up the original xbox's losses yet.
There is a real danger of sony going under which will obviously at least somewhat affect what happens with the playstation. There is no danger for microsoft.

This felt like a completely unrelated and random comment out of nowhere, because it doesn't take the meaning of my post in context.

This is literally the oddest thing I have ever seen posted on vgchartz.
You say once to try and hide the fact that the once is an entire year. You have also decided that previous years don't matter at all but that actually the year before does.
SCE has been making losses pretty constantly since the PS3 gen began. If I recall fiscal year 2010 was profitable but no figures were actually available. Whereas in the early years they were losing billions and billions.
I have an old link in my sig
If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing

And shepherds we shall be,
For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints
