It's a comic book movie for non-comic book fans. I'm sure most people will end up liking it in the end as long as they aren't too stooped in Spider-Man lore.

As for me, I'm actually enjoying the game so much (don't get carried away, though. It's still a 7.5/10 title) that I'm gonna go buy at least one more Spidey game, today!

I was definitely disappointed. I've been waiting for this for years, so it was a letdown. The first third to half of the movie was pretty bad, and was the main issue overall. Everything just felt so anticlimactic and rough around the edges, which is without a doubt the director's fault. I really felt almost nothing for the characters of uncle Ben or aunt may. The movie definitely got a lot better from the second third/half of the movie.

I really liked Andrew Garfield and Emma stone, think they both did great jobs, especially Garfield. The lizard was a much better villian than I was expecting. He was so big and powerful that I was actually on the edge of my seat in the fighting scenes bc it really seemed like he could crush Spiderman if he had the chance.

I definitely think all the negatives of ASM were due to directorial issues. Marc Webb has done one movie that he's known for, and it was a depressing romance movie. I love Sony, but I have no idea what they were thinking entrusting their biggest franchise in his hands

Hey! 500 days of summer is really good

I think for all the people knocking the Raimi movies  need to remember that before  his spiderman in 2002 superhero movies were either the laughing stock of hollywood (from batman and robin) or just meh (like the first X-men movie) . Those spiderman movies are why superhero gets so much of hype these days from there on we got spiderman 2, TDK, Ironman, Avengers and so on. This movie would be considered good to me pre spiderman in 2002.

I missed Harry Osbourne, I hope they introduce him in the 2nd movie with Norman as green goblin. If they follow the comics, Goblin can kill Gwen and then die which sets up TASM3 with Peter trying to get over her death which ultimately leads to some anger/fear problems -> V e n o m <3.

Oh and pick a fucking good Mary Jane for the 3rd movie. I wouldnt even mind if it was Emma just with red hair hahaha.

And for gods' sake make sure Goblin and Venom are good :P.

I can't say that I enjoyed this movie. To me a reboot of a movie that I saw 10 yrs ago I would expect it to better in every way (at least the studios should try to make it that way). Lets get the obvious out of the way if you saw it in 3d it was pretty much a waste because you could have watched most of the movie without the 3d glasses actually.

The soundtrack was horrible but I knew what I was in for by the time peter parker was picking on Flash and you heard that very annoying and cheesy music like you were watching some eddie murphy children's comedy (thats just bad).

The special effects were good as good as a movie made 10 years ago. As a matter of fact I will be the one to say it I found most of them were off, in this day and age if they can make giant robots fight on screen and not look fake,  then there is no reason why some parts in this movie you go damn that looks fake (the falling off the building scene for eg). The good parts were the first person point of view web swinging but most of it you already saw from the trailers.
The actors were good though whether you prefer the previous cast or this one is just a matter of preference. The origin part went on way too long (glad to see webshooters back though). I felt like they also got some parts wrong with regards to the spidey universe but I could be dead wrong here.
Why was he breaking everthing when he got his powers I mean I know he is strong ,can't remember exact strength in super hero terms , i remembered he can lift a small car over his head I think  (but that would require all of his strenght), but it never was as if spiderman was ridiculously strong like hulk or superman where he had to consciously hold back his strength or else destroy everything ,was just a little weird nothing major. And I always thought the lizard to be a villan that wasn't too smart, when he is the doc he is a genius and when he transforms to the lizard he just becomes an uncontrollable beast, which is why spiderman could defeat him because he would always out smart him, if the lizard kept his smart then there would be no chance in hell spiderman could defeat him because he would be stronger faster and smarter than spiderman, I always thought that was the play on the two characters in the comic but then as I said I could be wrong.

Then there is the horrific crane scene (Less said the better).

And at the end we never get told the untold story, you never really get to care for peter's parents and why they are not around or why they died or  were eaten by bears or whatever (which I thought was the point of this reboot from the marketing). I guess if you enjoyed the Twilight movies you will like this you can take that anyway you like.

*fixed*

And did no one else here see that crane scene I mean come on.

I loved everything about the movie. I never read any of the comics,so I can't really compare it in that way.

I never looked at it like that but that's actually very true.  If the bar hadn't been raised fairly recently, I'd be all over this movie.

I hated this movie. Unwatchable. I watched it with some friends right now and hated it. They didn't like it much either.

I promised to take my mom to see it (she loves Spidey) but I don't know if I can because I do not want to watch this movie again.

I'd give it a 4/10 for some few decent action scenes.

I much prefer the Tobey Spider-Man. He makes a lot more sense.

Why would a guy like the Garfield Spider-Man who has cool hair, good looks and a bad ass attitude (+ he does skateboard!) have no friends and get bullied?

You know Spider-Man did not start the Superhero movie hype, it was X-Men in 2000. Actually it was Blade 1998 but most people did not even know that Blade was a Marvel Superhero. After that came Spider-Man which was the first huge Superhero success with braking several records and earning a lot money. But without the first X-Men movie Spider-Man would never have become that huge, at least the first one would not.
