You mean L and R?  The 3DS has an L and R button.  I don't exactly see what the question and problem here is.

If they didn't, that would literally be the stupidest thing Nintendo could do.  The handheld games had shoulder buttons since the GBA, if I recall correctly.

Yes, isn't that what you would call those buttons on the shoulders of the 3DS? The ones with 'L' and 'R' on them.

3DS XL does look pretty sweet.

I'll be getting an XL once it comes out. I recently took out my DS XL and played Mario Kart DS on it for a little bit. Even though the graphics are no where near the 3DS's graphics, it just felt like a much more immersive experience. I can't wait to play RE: Revelations and Mario Kart 7 on it.

I guess he was talking about the ZL and ZR buttons added in the circle pad pro.

Aren't those usually excluded from HandHelds anyway?

My original DS was not so lucky. top screen broke like the second or third time I dropped it, which was about 4 years after i got it back in 2004. It fell from my lap when I was at my desk. it fell from 2 feet (0.61 meters), and the top LCD screen cracked. Probably hit at just the right spot. Lucky me. Anyway, I purchased a replacement top screen. But even with the replacement instructions, my lack of expertise caused me to screw it up somehow, and now the DS won't turn on at all. So, I just decided to give up and get a DS Lite. Now I'm ready to upgrade to the 3DS XL.

Edit: The hinges still work great, and I prefer the button style of the fat DS to the DS Lite. Too bad I screwed up the circuitry
