Beginning this autumn there will be a new way to earn Rewards based on your Achievements, Xbox LIVE Rewards has announced.

A tweet earlier this afternoon said: "We've hit 50,000 followers, which means it's time for an announcement! Coming Fall: a new way to earn Rewards based on your Achievements!"

No further information was given, but given Xbox LIVE Rewards offers users free Microsoft Points for completing set objectives, the suggestion is that gaining Achievements in games will be rewarded with Microsoft Points.

That's great. I've always wanted to be rewarded for my dedication to collecting achievement. Hopefully this is a feature that sticks into next gen.
