If it's any games/achievements then I'm going to borrow copies of Avatar:TLA, King Kong & some of the early EA Sports games. Easy money.

Oh yea baby, glad that my achievement hunting is going to be rewarded with MS points. When you think about it, its like getting paid, albeit a very low amount but what the heck, I am doing something that I enjoy.

Open to residents of the 50 United States (including District of Columbia), United Kingdom, Canada, Mexico, France, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, and Ireland, 13 years and older.

It's about time ... we have had achievements for 6 years now and we are already entering the next generation of consoles in a year or so. Better late than never I guess.

I really hope they give some rewards to those of us who already have been achievement hunting for years now ... special avatar props, MS points, titles for gamertag ... throw us a bone for being loyal customers Microsoft. Nintendo gives free crap just for owning their games through Club Nintendo.

At least this will shut up all of those people that outright dismiss achievements as "worthless."

Even if the ratio is 10 achievment points to 1 microsoft point, that's not going to be too bad for a more prolific gamer. I would only get 800microsoft points, but I have a few friends who use gamefly, who would get over 5000 microsoft points which is over $60 worth if I remember correctly.

I have a feeling though that microsoft will limit what you can buy with achievment points. Either you won't be able to buy new/popular arcade games and dlc, or you will only be able to buy useless asthetics like avatar items. Otherwise they will have serious issues with people abusing the system considering how cheap services like gamefly are, how easy it is to borrow a bunch of your friends' games, and how easy achievments are in many games. 

i have been defending that sony should do this with platinums, giving us players some avatars, home items, DLC, dynamic themes with artwork of the game we plat, etc

nice move by MS, but it would be nicer for the developers, to give items about their games instead of money for people to use on other games unrelated with the game people gain achievements from...

I've been hoping that someone would do this. If this continues into next gen and nobody else joins in doing it, then that could sway me towards a 720 purchase.

ah frek.. time to get my 360 repaired and back to buying my multiplats on the 360...
