Would be good for "achievements" to give some practical benefit.

This is very important. Trophies and Achievements must be significantly rewarded.

I used to be against Achievements/Trophies because I found them meaningless but I am now hooked to Trophies. But when I take two steps back I feel like I am putting a lot of work into an illusion. I have put dozens if not hundreds of hours in hunting Trophies but when I think about it I realize that all I gained was a rank without any true value.

I personally highly respect people with a high Trophy/Achievement but I also feel it's not enough value to just know that possibly a few guys on the internet on the other side of the world checked out my Trophy count.

I demand stronger incentives for hunting Achievements and Trophies.

It won't be anywhere near that good. There are a good few games that can get 1000 out of in a matter of seconds through glitches. Then there's about 7-8 that you can get 1000 from in a 30-45 mins, There's another 10-15 that you can get 1000 out of in a couple of hours each.

Can't see MS giving 1 MS point for 10 GS points. Wayyyyyy too generaous.

Well it isn't but doing that will see them giving away massive amounts of money and nobody will be greatful, MS will still have to pay publishers who's games get bought with the points.

My guess is if you get x (e.g 10k) amount of achievements, you'll get a predetermined game.

For those complaining about Microsoft not offering certain programs/incentives within certain locales. Microsoft has already addressed this in the past. The majority of the time it is due to local laws prohibiting certain activities, or restrictions that make doing so far too cost prohibitive. Let me put it in simpler terms. Your local government wants to tell Microsoft how it is going to do things, or wants to levy additional taxes on them for doing certain things. Even if it is neither of those chances are the red tape is so thick Microsoft just gives up without trying.

Microsoft wouldn't be doing this if they didn't think there was a way to make more money out of doing so. Which should make you wonder what is making your neck of the woods so unattractive to them. Nobody turns up their nose to extra money. Unless there isn't actually a way to make that money. I don't know about Europe, but in the U.S. we have advertisements about contests all of the time, and each time you hear about one of them there is always a disclaimer at the end saying. Not open to residents of these places.

It isn't that the company doesn't want people from those places to participate. They just cannot operate whatever contest they want to run in those places. Either the law expressly prohibits them from doing so, or they have to do some things they wouldn't want to do in the first place. Like go through a bunch of hoops.

I suppose if you are really pissed about not being included. I think your first move should be to see if what is being proposed is even legal in your country. Then if it is illegal you could work towards getting that law changed, or encourage your law makers to make the system more streamlined to encourage investment. I mean if your own country demands oversight from half a dozen panels to get something done. That may be warding away many companies that might want to do something, but don't have the resolve to run a gauntlet that takes months, or even years to traverse.

What I am saying is that petitioning Microsoft might not accomplish anything, because it might not be in their own power to do anything. After all you don't petition a foreign leader to release a prisoner that is being held in your country now do you. Do a little research the problem might be at your end.

Speaking to the subject I am not excited in the least. I confess that I have become far too familiar with the way that Microsoft runs its little promotions. They only end up costing you more money in the long run, and never offer anything of real merit. I expect that these rewards will be nothing more then coupons for games that they will jack up the prices of in advance. For those betting on Avatar rewards. I ask you how is this any different then what we have now. You can already unlock swag in games you play. It is just going to be the same old game with a different name.

Look I would like to get Microsoft points out of achievements, but you have to be supremely detached to think that Microsoft is going to do anything which doesn't involve shaking you down for your last nickel. With as much as the usual user spends on Gold subscriptions. You would think we would see more in the way of incentives that were more concrete, but what it usually amounts to is nothing at all really.
