You can have a significant leap with 600 USD PCs right now.

I read from that statement that they will wait till these specs become cheaper for them, otherwise they just can't afford it. A company that is worth 15 billion USD can't afford a product that they expect to lose 3 billion in the first 2-3 years.

Well at least if you try to be sustainable. Sony has not beed sustainable for the better part of the past decade.

When companies cry taking losses on console sales, they don't tell you they are actually making a profit overall. They can afford to take a loss for consoles as retail game sales make them money, and now with PS+ (Plus) they have a double-whammy. As long as people buy games, they are fine. It's just a marketing strategy to make them look noble, that they are taking a loss when in they really aren't.

I know the razor-blade stuff.

The point is, that this is still a risky strategy. Look how Sony failed 2006 - 2009.

wait are you telling me that consoles sold at a missive loss....... lose money? *mind blown*

Watch Dogs will end up looking great on consoles just like every other game E3 has ever shown.

The Last Of us is cutting edge, and that's why it was nominated for various best of show awards.

Sorry you can't see that.

>:(

I'm sure watch dogs will look great, but it won't be an improvement on anything we've seen so far on consoles.

The Last of Us didn't win those best of show awards because it has graphics that are better than anything we've seen before on consoles. It runs on the exactly the same engine as U3 aside from some changes to lighting (changes, not improvements). You really can't argue agaisnt that, it's a fact. Sorry you can't see that.

TLOU seemed to have a lot more detail, the scale seems like its gonna be bigger and animations as well as character faces looked better in TLOU, in my opinion. I wouldn't say it looks vastly better than Uncharted 3, but there are definitely going to be some improvements

According to ND, the only changes are changes to lighting and rendering techniques (providing a larger sense of scale). These changes are tiny, if you put TLOU and Uncharted 3 side by side, you'd really struggle to tell which one looks better. Facial animations seem a little better I guess, but again, the differences are minimal, there really isn't much they can improve on visually, the PS3 can't be pushed any further and that's my point. TLOU and BEYOND are it's peaks.

Did they also said AI is going to be tremendously superior ?

For those that aren't versed in the language of bullshit I will do my utmost to translate. Sony ain't showing shit now, because they haven't got their shit together. Whether you take him at his word is your choice. Personally I am going to go with he is telling the truth as he sees it.

I am going to go out on a limb here, and say that Microsoft probably wouldn't say the same. Those new studios are well into developing games for the new platform, and Microsoft is probably carrying that years lead over onto their new platform. I expect games for the Next box already look better then for the old box.

Not hard to do considering PS3 games look better than 360 games. I think what he meens is that they probably have some games already to the level of PS3 or slightly more polished. They want to wait until their is a large enough difference so that they can compare them and say...."See how much better PS4 is"? For me right now, PS3 exclusives look great and play great. PS4 is not really needed yet IMO. Maybe another 2 years unless they completly revamp the OS and add some different features to the console.

I've heard this in 2009.....

I heard this in 2010,

I heard this in 2011,

Now you are telling me this in 2012 for 2013 games.

Respectfully.....How about you just save it.

Sure, but we're talking about visuals here.

o_o Okay, but you didn't hear it from me. I'm saying it now because I have evidence to back it up.

"UC = ND engine 1.0

UC2 = ND engine 2.0

UC3 = ND engine 3.1

TLOU = ND engine 3.1 (or 3.2, either way the difference is incredibly small)

See how it isn't a progression as the others were? Looks like we're hitting a wall to me."

Why don't you actually reply to my arguments? Like this one. You keep dodging them.

We're talking about Ps3 capabilities in general

Apparently it was news to some people. The point is Sony got never even close to get this money back. That is why I said it is a risky move and Sony can't afford this with all the financial problems they have.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...
