Vita has ad hoc play like the DS, and i don't see being restricted to wifi as an issue. I'm sure plenty of people wifi their PS3 and the Vita has an excellent built in wifi.

I expect sales to be a bit beter than AC3:liberations this holiday season, needs a bundle though. I predict CoD Vita sells 1.5 to 2 million this holiday.

Comparing it to the PSP version isn't that meaningful anymore. The CoD explosion happened in 2008, the fan base since the PSP game has expotentially increased. Despite the larger install base the Vita will be moving units during the holiday and this title will be one of the first games people buy up.

Who wants to see a white Vita AC bundle right next to a zombie CoD black Vita bundle? Gold mine.

Which makes the fact that that one PSP game has done better than all the other DS games, and those were released AFTER the explosion. Funny how Superchunk doesnt seem to bring those up, i wonder why.

It probably won't reach 500.000 in sales, definitely not 1m. (life, not initial)

Don't be so sure. A couple of the DS CODs almost hit 1 mil. This one has a chance over time. I certainly wouldn't expect 2 mil, though.

True with FAR higher userbases. I'm factoring in the lower appeal for the genre on portables and the lower appeal of Vita in itself so far.

Well, I think that if marketed well COD on Vita could do good numbers, even though It has a small userbase. I believe people will see it as the first real COD experience on the go.

Read the description for the game again. Tailored for the Vita means that they designed it to be a portable experience. If it is good, it will sell well. Most people play their handhelds at home anyway. don't they?

idk. I don't own any handheld beyond my phone. (had Vita been a phone then that would be different)

My kids play there DSi everywhere but more so when we're leaving the house. At home their gameplay is on the portable only when they get a new game.

Yeah, I mainly play handhelds at home too. The main reason being convinience & flexibility. I did a thread a while back that asked where people mainly played handhelds and "at home" was the most picked answer by a large amount.

I always found this odd, if your at home, why not just play your console?? THe only time i use my portables at home is if there is a game im really into and i cant get enough (KH:BBS), but i guess if you dont go nowhere where you would have time to play it, thats understandable

Hmm I suppose but correct me if I'm wrong those games sucked right? A FPS game has not effectively been replicated on a handheld until the Vita. The DS userbase is like it or not, younger. That and the CoD user base isn't with Nintendo consoles, looking at Wii. PS3 owners should be okay buying a Sony product in theory, and Xbox owners don't have a Microsoft handheld option, this game reaches its userbase. Not everyone will bite but it will do well. Vita games are young but they have the power of an HD console in your hand, it is an interesting stage in the life of handheld systems.

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

Hmmm if this and ass creed turns out to be good...then VITA is looking to have quite a strong lineup come end of year.

Hopefully soul sacrifice is also releasing this year worldwide (can someone confirm this?)...that game looks amazing.

COD, AC, Soul Sacrifice, Gravity Rush, Uncharted GA.... VITA's software offering is finally shaping up!

I personally find handheld gaming to be just as satisfying as consoles, if not more, due to the flexibility offered with handhelds. I don't have to stay in a fixed room when playing my PSP / DS. I could go to the bathroom, living room, dining room etc without interrupting my game.

Handheld gaming can even be more confortable than consoles IMO. I could play a handheld much longer than a console due to the fact that I don't need to face one direction sitting in the same spot. I can stand up, lay down, roll over, walk around, get in the bed, etc without any interruption. The ability to play on the go is just a bonus. It's not my primary function.

Also, I know a lot of people who say handhelds are incapable of offering experiences as rich/deep as consoles. While this is true most of the time, there are plenty of handheld games out there that offer experiences as deep as consoles. People just need to find the right games.

Also, TV's tend to burn my eyes out faster than handhelds. Put it this way: If the Vita had every game the PS3 had with proper controls, I would play the Vita more because of the reasons already mentioned. The only advantage consoles have imo is power. And power stops mattering to me when I'm immersed in a game with excellent gameplay.

This has been a point of discussion before. The base isn't on Nintendo consoles because they put inferior Call of Duty games on Nintendo consoles.
