Superchunk, I'd love to make a bet with you about the lifetime sales of this. I'm shocked that anyone thinks it won't cross 500k.

I said probably not and definitely on 1m. Last time I bet on a probably, I lost lol. So, I'll stick to my definite only.

Though, keep in mind. Uncharted only has 600k so far and that is more of an exclusive experience.

but thats undertracked according to shipment figures. it has already sold over 1million.

unless VG chartz is really really badly undertracking Uncharted 1, 2 and 3.

this is what i said 2 months ago when sony released shipment figures.

17.32 million shipped
14.4 million VGC sales
Uncharted: GA: 0.53 million
Uncharted 1: 4.21 million
Uncharted 2: 5.56 million
Uncharted 3: 4.17 million
2.9 million on shelves
seems legit.

any way its probably 2 million undertracked/not reported digital sales.
with less than 2 million Vitas in the wild (1.9m) i will guess that Uncharted: GA has shipped ~1.32 million
that leaves 16 million shipped for Uncharted 1, 2, and 3. VGC has it at 13.9 million.
its likely sold 15 million. so 1 million undertracked for 1, 2, 3.
so my guess is sales really look like this:
Uncharted 1: 4.41 million (.2 million under)
Uncharted 2: 5.81 million (.25 million under)
Uncharted 3: 4.72 million (.55 million under)
so that would leave 1.1 million on selves for the 3 games

so 2 months have gone by and according to vgchartz there are still 2.5 million on shelves from the shipment 2 months ago.

Hmm I suppose but correct me if I'm wrong those games sucked right? A FPS game has not effectively been replicated on a handheld until the Vita. The DS userbase is like it or not, younger. That and the CoD user base isn't with Nintendo consoles, looking at Wii. PS3 owners should be okay buying a Sony product in theory, and Xbox owners don't have a Microsoft handheld option, this game reaches its userbase. Not everyone will bite but it will do well. Vita games are young but they have the power of an HD console in your hand, it is an interesting stage in the life of handheld systems.

This has been a point of discussion before. The base isn't on Nintendo consoles because they put inferior Call of Duty games on Nintendo consoles.

A) inferior hardware leads to inferior games.  an no, i'm not just talking nintendo ... psp suffered from the same blight.

B) the base isn't there just as much because nintendo doesn't make the games that appeals to that particular base.  for the exact same reason just dance/ea active/ect does terrible numbers on the ps360 the CoD audience will never flock to a nintendo console when the other consoles are doing vastly more to appeal to their tastes.

Hmmm if this and ass creed turns out to be good...then VITA is looking to have quite a strong lineup come end of year.

Hopefully soul sacrifice is also releasing this year worldwide (can someone confirm this?)...that game looks amazing.

COD, AC, Soul Sacrifice, Gravity Rush, Uncharted GA.... VITA's software offering is finally shaping up!

I think Soul Sacrifice was delayed to 2013 in the West

fuck that shit man i was looking forward to it

Will this be the first Vita game to reach the Top 20 USA Pre-Orders chart?

Vita has ad hoc play like the DS, and i don't see being restricted to wifi as an issue. I'm sure plenty of people wifi their PS3 and the Vita has an excellent built in wifi.

I expect sales to be a bit beter than AC3:liberations this holiday season, needs a bundle though. I predict CoD Vita sells 1.5 to 2 million this holiday.

Comparing it to the PSP version isn't that meaningful anymore. The CoD explosion happened in 2008, the fan base since the PSP game has expotentially increased. Despite the larger install base the Vita will be moving units during the holiday and this title will be one of the first games people buy up.

Who wants to see a white Vita AC bundle right next to a zombie CoD black Vita bundle? Gold mine.

Which makes the fact that that one PSP game has done better than all the other DS games, and those were released AFTER the explosion. Funny how Superchunk doesnt seem to bring those up, i wonder why.

I cant speak for the PSP one as i have never played it, but i thought those DS ones were pretty bad. BUT i did play MOH Heroes and it was damn good for a handheld. THat game did about 2mil+ and its sequel did about 1.6mil i believe. (another interesing note is the sequel also released on Wii and that version bombed.) My point is that those games were released with little ads or coverage, from a series that was kinda down and still did that on a system people swore was dead. there is an audience for these games on portables

I have faith in 3Arch that'll they release a COD game that will take full advantage of Vita. Who know's we could get exclusives content for Vita, or get the Vita and PS3 version and get bonus content. Zombies is a must.

It sounds like it's going to be similar to unit 13 just going though levels.

I don't know about this one. I could see it bombing or selling like crazy.

If they market it perfectly, enphasising it's CoD on the go, can play with your friends, etc., then many kids and teens may want it and it may become a phenomenom similar to Pokémon.

Or people may just not give a shit about CoD on the go and it could sell less than Uncharted and AC3:L.

I'm really looking forward to seeing what happens though.

No troll is too much for me to handle. I rehabilitate trolls, I train people. I am the Troll Whisperer.

Can't wait! I bet it will feel great on the vita!

If it has full out zombies, 2 million plus easy. Otherwise like Newcloud said it could be just like Unit 13 and only sell because of the name. Now if they have zombies and motion control aiming plus cross-play with Blobs 2, I could see 3 million being a possibility. I haven't made a bet in a while, any takers? hahaha
