Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo not interested in buying Wii U exclusive titles

They don't need to, because they'll get them anyway.

Pretty much this. I imagine every Wii U game will utilize the tablet controller in some way.

Nintendo doesn't need force people to only buy games on their system to get them to get the customers.

The casuals will not play a huge part in next gen like they did this gen. Nintendo will need the core. We dont need a repeat case for Nintendo like the Gamecube.

The 3DS proves you wrong. It is the best selling console so far. And I am sure 70% of the customers are "causual".

Stop misusing the term "casual". I'm fed up with this absurdity among the internet gaming community - a person can play Call of Duty casually, and a person can play Just Dance in a hardcore manner. The terms have NOTHING to do with the type of game itself.

The Nintendo should some of there and not just rely on 20 years old IPs

Wii Sports (and Sports Resort)

Wii Fit (And Fit Plus)

Wii Play

NintendoLand

Xenoblade

The Last Story

Pandora's Tower

Wii Music

Luigi's Mansion

Oh silly me how could I forgot Wii Sports and Wii Fit.

As far as new IP's this gen they are THE most successful ones... Nintendo crushed all other new IP's sale-wise

Maybe if MS packed Halo 3 with every 360 sold...

Oh yes, because the 20 million (or more) selling Wii Play and Wii Fit and Wii SPorts Resorts were all bundle with a wii...

Wii Play came with a Wiimote, Wii Fit is a whole new hardware, WSR came with wiimote +MotionPlus (and it was heavily bundled as well). Try again

Perhaps you would like to go back an read your previous statement - an I quote: "with EVERY 360 SOLD". You're talking console bundles - I'm not.

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

No im just talking about bundles in general - every ''Wii'' game has been heavily bundled with either a console itself or accessories

Well, then it's just good business practice I guess, considering how well they've sold.

Games sell hardware. Hardware doesn't sell games. People didn't buy Wii Fit for the balance board, they bought the Balance Board for Wii Fit. They didn't buy Wii Sports Resort for MotionPlus (didn't come with Wiimote), they bought the MotionPlus for Wii Sports Resort (note that you could buy MotionPlus separately, so that argument is out, too). I will give a pass to the case of Wii Play, though, as it was pretty much a really cheap game that you could get if you were already going to buy a Wiimote, which most people want to do if they've recently bought a Wii.

But then, NSMB Wii had sold over 20 million before they bundled it with the Wii. So had Mario Kart Wii. Wii Fit Plus sold over 20 million, and given that Wii Fit came before it, you can't really go "see, bundled".

Im talking about the Wii U not a handheld device. Second of all theres no proof that 70% of users who buy the Wii U are casual. Sure, the Wii U will have a clear male/female 50-50% split like the DS did and the Wii, but Nintendos dedicated fans tend to buy their handhelds and have been supporting them since the original Gameboy. A lot of their best games come out on their handhelds. It's majorly children holding up the sales of the DS as well. If you ask me the kids are pretty hardcore about the DS.

Yep, I remember this. When I was working at Gamestop the casuals at Nintendo stuff up. Mostly mothers and children (then again when you look anywhere else thats where most of the sales come from), most dads were on the PS3/360. NSMB sold well outside of the bundle, but sold better with the Wii bundle I am sure. So did Mario Kart with the Wheel. Wiifit was pretty obvious that they were attach rate game though. Very smart on Nintendos part.

I don´t know why gamers use this term all the time. Maybe Hardcore gamer sounds better then pathetic freak.
