Forums - Nintendo - Heroes of Ruin 3DS is the next 3DS game you Europeans need to buy! Demo in N.A right now!

I have it and its a good game, despite some graphical issues, the gamepay is solid and fun, the multiplayer works very well, there are A LOT of weapons and abilities to unlock, very nice customization...

overall a very good hack n slash rpg, too bad it wont sell very much...10k first week in the EU
i hope America shows some love for it...

The major flaw this game has is that when you finish the campaign, there is not really anything you can do after this because every boss you killed stays dead. You can't even finish most of the daily quests anymore because the are stuff like "complete xy dungeon" and the completion only works when you kill the endboss which does not respawn. The only thing you can do is join games of other people who haven't yet beat said boss. So Endgame is not really well thought out, its rather poor actually. And don't open up your game for all people to join, either play it alone or with friends, because like I said, strangers will invade your game, kill your boss, steal your loot and leave. The game seems to be designed to promote this kind of behavior because its your only option to progress after you complete the campaign..

I really hope n-space gets another shot at this franchise because at the core the game is really good they just didnt finish their thoughts.

Ongoing bet with think-man: He wins if MH4 releases in any shape or form on PSV in 2013, I win if it doesn't.

I have put in about 22 hours so far, but I'm very busy right now. I really enjoy playing the game and the campaign is very good. I didn't max out any hero because of said "lategame" absence. It just seems they had a really big brain fart concerning endgame structure.

If you care about maxing all 4 heroes you are looking at about 60 hours playtime which is more than anough for me personally and I find myself going back every once in a while. But you need to be aware that this game is no "mmo" where you can keep playing for months and months.

Also, the way online play and voice chat is integrated is really really good. I hope other developers take notes concerning own projects.

I would still recommend the game for people who are lootwhores like me. Also, Shark Pirates.

A lot of people are complaining about this game, I saw. I think people are being too harsh on the game, and need to start telling people the positives along with the negatives. I don't like when I only see one side. I pre-ordered this game without trying the demo first because it seems to be $29.99 on some sites.

Believe me, the game is worth the buy if you like the genre, it is very much like Diablo and the multi works great...i paid 45$ for it and i dont regret a bit.

I played through the game, let me share some impressions:
It's pretty short. I was through the complete story with my barbarian in 15 hours, others will make it faster I think. You can replay it with the other three classes though.
It's fun gameplay, like diablo.
You should first play singleplayer through the game, to avoid problems like KylieDog had.
Endplay in single-player is boring. You practically don't increase your level anymore, as the monsters give too less XP, you have to solve quests. If you through the story, you can repeat only one quest endlessly, that's not enoough. But you can join games of others, all get the XP for solving quests, so you can level even if you played through it already.
You find many random items, like in diablo.
Multiplayer is OK. You join the games of others, and can help to kill monsters and solve quests. If some quest-event or cutscene happens at one point, the party must gather together at this point, to get the story going.
You can trade your items with others you are playing with.
The daily and weekly quests (one weekly, 3 daily) bring no XP, but special points, that can be used in another shop to buy special items.
With Streetpass you share items you selled in your game. The items others have sold show up in another special shop in your game.
I didn't tried the voice-chat so far, and nobody else did I played with.
A very cool feature is, if you play together with someone on your 3DS-friend-list, you both gain ranks that get you some bonus if you play together again. It has to be the same friend, you gain the bonus, even if you play with a different character than before. The bonus increase, the more you both played together.

That said: someone want to befriend me to play a bit Heroes of Ruin?
