I expected something like this from Fox not CNN.

I was think the same thing.  Fox News is usually the worst but CNN also has it's moments as this right here showed.  Honestly, I think of both of those stations as tabloids that make up much of their news.  The funny thing is that John Stewart and Stephen Colbert's writers are better at it.

Eh, i'd expect it more from MSNBC.  Fox News I'd assume LOVES Germany.  Maybe not though.

Either way, CNN was taken over by the main guy from HLB.  Which was liberal Fox news before MSNBC stepped up it's rhetoric. (With even more tabloid thrown in.)

So a shift further left is not unexpected.

Someone is getting very butthurt about having her shitty car companies called shitty....

WTF, all that the article that she read did was to tell facts. SAAB DID fall apart under GM (Though as a company, it has never been profitable) and VOLVO did not do that good under Ford. And Geely DOES make crap cars.

Thankfully there probably isn't many people who are as over-sensitive, and stupid as her, right?

I actually think it was more a liberal shot at Germany, made to rally support by backing up US companies and targeting Germany since the car companies are a big pride to a lot of people here... espeically working class democrats.

The thing is... the news stations around here have basically turned the narrative around here to blame the whole greek crisis and Europeon Debt Crisiss on Germany because Germany is forcing austerity.

Saying the conservative economic priniples hurt growth and that's why Europe is in such bad shape and screwed.  (Ignoring the fact that there wasn't growth with the whole liberal spend all you want policy and this was already happening but whatever... oh and that it's the debt crisis.)

Although really... it's kinda

German media rips on Greece all the time

At least we do it with style instead of using pathetic pictures like this:

Actually there are more pictures in that article: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2101614/Greece-debt-crisis-Greeks-brand-Germans-Nazis-taking-control-economy.html

Ironically the Greek nazi party did much much better than ours...

How do Germans feel about the whole Greece debarcle?

Personally if I was German I'd be wanting to pull out of Europe and create a super currency with Scandinavia. That would be hilarious.

According to latest surveys 59% of germans are in favour of the European Union and think their country benefits from it. I can't find an english source for it right now, so you'll just have to take my word for it I guess

can you link the survey? What language is it in?  I am not so sure the percentage is that high.

I can't find it anymore which is strange considering I read about it in more than one news outlet... sorry. I know germans were more skeptical of the Euro and was quite surprised so many were in favour of the EU with everthing going on right now. People are usually quick to blame the EU when something - anything, really - goes wrong.

I see, so there was political motivation behind it.

Still, her assumption that the magazine was insulting the american car companies... it's so ridiculously far fetched, such things shouldn't classify as journalism.

Well, there is an unspoken rule about news networks.

Don't take anything from one at face value between around 4PM and 1AM... because that's when they move from "Journalism" shows to "Advocacy" shows.

It would be nice if they'd label the two though I agree.

Oh hey its pacman

With an even smaller mouth.

How am I not surprised?

Funny thing is, nothing that the German magazine printed is untrue... Saab is dead and gone. Volvo was pretty much dead under Ford since mid 2000s.
