Forums - PC Discussion - Recommend some free games for me? New Laptop :D

So I very recently got my new laptop. I never did any pc gaming, as my previous computer could barely run anything other than flash. But now that I have a processor that isn't 7 years old, I'm up to trying some pc games.  So far I have Far Cry 1 and 2, and Crysis 2. I am looking for some good free games to play on my laptop. If you care about the specs, here are some of them:

Dell XPS 15 L1502X, 750GB HDD

1366 X 768 resolution

Core i7-2760QM 4-Core 2.4 GHz

GPU Nvidia GeForce GT 525M w/ 1GB

6GB Ram

So, if it pleases your fancy, please recommend a few free games. Doesn't really matter what kind. I'm up to try basically anything. Adventure, Action, MMO, offline-RPG, Platformer, Racing, Simulation, all that jazz. If you want to recommend some paid pc exclusives, that's fine as well. Just nothing with subscriptions. Additionally, if you have any comments on my GPU or anything else, those would be appreciated. Peace.

Been away for a bit, but sneaking back in.

Gaming on: PS4, PC, 3DS. Got a Switch! Mainly to play Smash

Cave Story and Team Fortress 2 are great.

Love and tolerate.

Diablo III pissed me off because every retailer jacks up the price by 30-50% when they realized there's a strong, persistent demand. Oh wait, this is supposed to be about 'free' games. Check this thread out

Do not allow yourself to be blinded by fear and anger. Everything is only as it is.

Blacklight Retribution, a very recently released free to play FPS with very good graphics and mechanics. It does have somewhat high recommended system requirements for FTP games that I have seen, but with your nvidia GPU and quad core I7 you should easily be able to run this at full glory at 60 FPS. Highly recommend this.

I am not too big into mmos, but a good free one (without subscription fees) is Rusty hearts. I had quite a bit of fun with the addictive combat system. You can download this one through steam for free.

Well, you'll probably want to try League of Legends, one of the bigger games out there and a kind of genre that's foreign to console.

Battle for Wesnoth is a fun turn based game with RPG Elements.

Team Fortress 2 is my favorite multiplayer shooter by far.

DC Universe Online is pretty fun as far as an MMORPG Beat em up goes... you can always buy more stuff but it's fine at base level really.

Global Agenda is also like that, but more shooty. Those three i'd suggest getting through Steam who will have a lot of free to play games and some great sales when you decide to drop some money.

Though a flash game Super Mario crossover is a lot more fun then you'd expect.

Hm that's all i got for right now.

Nothing in life is free buddy. :(
Try Free Realms. That game is the best mmo on the market.

Combat Arms if you want Nexon spyware shit on your new computer.

Only other games I can recommend are any titles that Blizzard makes:

WarCraft3/Frozen Throne
Diablo III
StarCraft II

The previous games haven't aged well, especially the first Diablo.

Alien Swarm on Steam.
The Orange Box is pretty cheap.

Oh yeah, solid GPU. Actually, pretty damn good for a laptop. How much was your laptop anyway?

My sister got a macbook for college and it has a Nvidia Geforce 320M and your card just blows it away.
