In essence I want to Pitch a Wii U game to a 3rd party publisher
Lets try to suggest games we believe will actually sell (sorry Zack & Wiki) , as well as make good use of the new controls.
When suggesting a game, please explain how Wii U can add to the gameplay.
Basically this thread is in case any publishers are lurking on the site for fan feedback
Here are a few of mine, to start things off, I'll add more as they come to me.
Ghostbusters!
I'd love to see a continuation of Red Fly's cartoon game on Wii. Controls would be wiimote and nunchuck for the backpack and proton stream, Upad for the ghost trap! Then you could capture ghosts on the TV with the wiimote and drag them into the Upad's screen. You could hold on to them or release them later to solve puzzles. Meanwhile you'd get some hilarious animations of ghosts squirming inside the trap
Other features could include using the Upad to drive and operate the car, using the Upad as a scanner for ghosts, etc.
Red Steel 3/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
I don't mean this as a cross over of course
Red steel 2 had a satisfying combat system, it's a shame because that they nailed the controls in the sequel but it didn't sell as well as the original. Id love to see a third game in franchise where they could spend more time on level design and story. Multiplayer would be more than welcome too.
The catch to help it sell is this: the game's visual style as well as the whole east meets west motif really reminded me of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Since Ubi seems to have the rights to that IP, I always thought it would be smart to have a "Red Steel 3" game in that universe.
Controls would be mostly the same as RS2, using a sword and gun with motion plus and a nunchuck. I don't think this game would have to make truly unique use of the new controller in order to sell. Four player local multiplyer would be great, and certainly Wii U has enough power to pull this off. If developers still wanted to include asymmetric gameplay, they could have one player as a turtle in front of the TV, and another as a villian on the WiiPad blasting lasers that the other player would have to deflect and such.
Until you've played it, every game is a system seller!
