Everybody knows PS3 games sell Xbox360 consoles.

Never knew that. Explains things a little.
I've never played a Fire Emblem game before, but from what I'm seeing, this new game's sucess is due to the production values, right?
It looks much more polished than previous games, from a non-fan perspective. The character design also looks top-notch.
I'd expect around a 25k boost in Hardware for the 3DS if ~42k was the baseline from last week (before Mario Tennis). Dragon Quest is probably gonna sell 300k+ at least this week.
Wii is low per usual, but it is disappointing. Mario Party 9 helped out sales a little bit; just shows Wii could've at least been passable if they kept releasing software.
Vita will be fine if PSP development simply transfers over. Right now though its Charles Barkley turrible
Leatherhat on July 6th, 2012 3pm. Vita sales:"3 mil for COD 2 mil for AC. Maybe more. " thehusbo on July 6th, 2012 5pm. Vita sales:"5 mil for COD 2.2 mil for AC."
I'm glad to see dragons dogma got a good opening, it deserves it. I was expecting alot more praise for it in the west than ended up having. It still looks like the freshest western style RPG to get (more interesting than skyrim and the witcher 2 for me). Cheers to capcom for rising japan HD development from the gutter.
Also very pleased with Fire emblem sales, but would like to see Kingdom hearts sell more aswell. I'm still confused as to why it didnt sell better (maybe not large enough installed base compared to when past titles were released).

While Nintendo is pushing Awakening more than previous entries (both in production values and advertising), I would say the success of this new game also has to do with the DLC model. The people who usually sell back their games to stores don't do so, because there's still more content coming, so there are less used copies in circulation which forces other gamers to buy new. The game is also more newb friendly with options to disable permanent deaths as well as a The Sacred Stones structure that allows grinding. So there are several factors contributing to this game's legs. We'll see if it manages to get past 500k lifetime. |
You're probably right... again!
Well, if this success influences Nintendo as a whole I don't know if it's going to be good or bad. Ah, doesn't matter, DLC is innevitable.
Nothing stands out in the charts right now, but Dragon's Dogma did a lot better than I ever thought it would 0_0

Is that a serious question?

Impressive Dragon's Dogma. Won't reach Capcoms 10million prediction though!
Woah at 360 boost! Was it due to Dragon's Dogma? People really wanted that Resident Evil 6 demo.....
Things looking pretty bleak for the Vita imho; on a good note it seems to be settling on 5k-6k weekly sales and haven't dropped for a while. With no new games that move hardware in sight the Vita is one step closer to the grave.
