Omg fire emblem has infinite legs.well deserved sales too
Sad to see kid icarus fall off the chart.it stayed up there for longer than I expected though
Nice to see xbox selling lol..ahh monster hunter, saving one console at a time

With only around 7'000 sales? XD I think it was more the doing of Dragon's Dogma.

lol,I didn't thought dragon dogma would be big in japan. It seemed more of a monster hunter for the western market tbh.

Well, the proof is in the Chartz. Plus, it's been very high up there in the most wanted for Japan for quite awhile.

I know but it just kind of looks like something that was made for elder scrollish type of fans.Still amazing sales though.Looks like the type of ip that can have many sequels

Whatever, Rol. I'm not going to argue with your ignorance.

You really have no idea how sales work. Awakening is only halfway there and its best weeks are already behind it. You are predicting strong legs, but this is an SRPG we are talking about here. The popularity of a system doesn't automatically make everything have great sales.

I know that.

(I was looking at Global, btw, when I looked at #'s.)

If it's released in Europe and America I think it'll hit the mark or pass it. (Not necessarily crazy high, but high enough to become #1.) For Japan I think it'll become #1, too. Solely due to the sales of recent games. (Seems like most things have done at least OK on the 3DS in Japan.) And the vast amount of sales the 3DS has pulled in overall. The Holiday will give it a real boost in Japan, too.

Stragedy games dont sell..starcraft says hi,plus the mere fact it's an rpg in japan is not like it's a bad thing

No, SRPG's don't actually sell that well, he was quite right with that one. But, Nintendo just seems to have marketed this series off very well.

Great Mario Tennis Open numbers. Everything is up.

I don't think Gundam Vita is going to do well. It's barely moving on the pre-order charts.

Fire Emblem 3 contained a remastered version of Fire Emblem 1, so it was a really good package and entry point for people who missed the NES game. No other title on this list is two games in one.

Never knew that. Explains things a little.

I've never played a Fire Emblem game before, but from what I'm seeing, this new game's sucess is due to the production values, right?

It looks much more polished than previous games, from a non-fan perspective. The character design also looks top-notch.

Fire Emblem fans love to ship the characters together.

Awakening is the first Fire Emblem since 4 (also one of only two games to currently outrank it) where that shipping makes babies.

Fire Emblem fans love baby-making. It is science.

Globally, Awakening has incredibly good chances to become the bestselling Fire Emblem ever, but we were and are talking about Japan.

Consider that the game hit 390k LTD this week. It needs another 390k to become #1, so it's only halfway there. So when you say holiday boost, what numbers are you thinking about?

Well, the Holiday in Japan (for sales of products) has gotten really popular in Japan recently. I think it should get a healthy jump. Truthfully, though, I'm not sure on exact numbers. VGC is not really working with me to look back at Holiday Numbers for past games in the series. (As we all know it's gone down-hill in ease of use for searching past sales.)

But, it only sold 290K(?) in Japan. It already passed it. Right? (That's what VGC says.)

Even if the VGC database was still good, you wouldn't find any FE numbers for the holidays. Most games were released during spring or summer and none of them had legs that lasted into the holidays or resurgences during the holidays.

Awakening will slowly, but surely, fizzle out. There won't be new DLC forever, but the game should make it past 500k lifetime.

I have no idea where you got that 290k number from nor which FE game it refers to.

I think he's looking at FE7. He's referring to worldwide sales at this point.

I don't know that he is; I'm not looking at the numbers, and am only guessing.

Things looking pretty bleak for the Vita imho; on a good note it seems to be settling on 5k-6k weekly sales and haven't dropped for a while. With no new games that move hardware in sight the Vita is one step closer to the grave.

Persona 4 says hi.
