Valve gets my vote for PC
Atlus for handheld
I'm undecided for consoles.

Valve has shown it's not pulling any punches on Dota 2 and hopefully it will become a successful e-sport.

So this is your profesional opinion. Have you played Uncharted? And define linear?

As much as I love God of War thats the only game Santa Monica did on there own. I know they supported Flower, Journey and almost every other PSN game from Sony. I just would like to see them make some more games on there own, before I put them on a level with Naughty Dog and Bioware.

Well they are making a new GoW and a rumoured FPS. I hope something will be revealed at E3 from them.

We´ll see how FPS turns out. But Ascencion is just another GoW game. They have proven that this formula works, this game will be awesome. But again its just another GoW game.

I have no doubt in my mind that Dota 2 will be huge any way you slice it. I just wonder how huge. Can it overtake LoL to become the biggest MOBA game around?

It might.

LoL still have the absolute advantage in terms of numbers and is making splashes in China. Last year, I went to Hainan Island for business trip and everyone is mostly playing LoL  in the cybercafe.

Dota is massive in China, it is roughly estimated the chinese audience makes up 40%-50% of the worldwide audience. Valve did 2 things right. The International 2 has already revealed 4 chinese teams and by hosting another tournament ( at least as big as the previous $1.6m one ), it's showing dedication towards Dota2 becoming a successful esport.

1. Nintendo (really gets me how people can't include them in their list)
2. Valve (for Portal 2 would be first, but no Half Life 3 knocks it down)
3. Monolith Soft (Xenoblade. 'nuff said).
4. Namco (Tales of___games)
5. Capcom (I disagree with their policies, but their Nintendo games, like Revelations, MH3, Resi4 Wii means they deserve a place on this list).

Naughty Dog don't deserve a place, because the Uncharted games are massively overhyped, and that's ALL they've done to my knowledge. You need width and breadth to be a good dev, not winging it on one series. I preferred it when they did the Crash Bandicoot games...

Not necessarily. Like someone mentioned earlier, the Forza devs make consistently quality games and so does Naughty Dog. So if you like their way of making games it's a not brainer that you would include them on your list. ND are working on The Last of Us which will be very different from Uncharted.

I notice you listed Monolith Soft. Aren't they mainly an RPG dev?

They are, but they make a wide series of RPG's, namely the Baiten Kaitos and Xeno____ series. In addition, they do a lot of smaller stuff. And the Uncharted games just bored me anyway. The dialogue was a bit ropey, they were pretty darn linear and it just felt unifinished. I'll never understand the appeal.

But TLOU does look pretty sweet!

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

- Not Mojang (I have no idea why everyone so obssessed with this indie company and notch, minecraft feels like a glorified level creator, and there is no point of playing it more than a couple of minutes, atleast Terraria had an actual good battle system and "Adventure" as in it pays if you try exploring)

I will never understand you >_>. Minecraft is very rewarding if you explore

Ironic you talked about exploration and then say you'd never understand because of Uncharted.

No, I was pointing out the irony in your post. You say you don't like Uncharted for its linearity, then go on to say Minecraft needs more of it.

How in the world did you get "Linearity" from that Minecraft part?

- Not Mojang (I have no idea why everyone so obssessed with this indie company and notch, minecraft feels like a glorified level creator, and there is no point of playing it more than a couple of minutesatleast Terraria had an actual good battle system and "Adventure" as in it pays if you try exploring)

there is a huge difference between linearity and the lack of content, uncharted has both these issues though.

I can't pick best, so I'll list some of the ones i can think of at the moment

- Sega

- Sony Japan

- Nintendo

- Atlus

- Bethesda (but the COPYRIGHT EVERYTHING thing is pissing me off)

- Valve

- CD Projekt RED

but to be honest its probably everyone except the listed

- Not Naughty Dog (Linear as hell games, barely have any replayability, and too much focus on graphics)

- Not Epic Games (same as above, Generic as hell games, but atleast has replayability)

- Not Ubisoft (all of it)

- Not Capcom (all of it)

- Not Idea Factory/ Compile Heart (their games are a big joke, and they know it, always going for the weeboo humor and hentai anime girls)

- Not HotHead Games (same as above but the american way)

- Not Bioware (their games suck ass after the first one in the series... ALWAYS, and they always the pointless sex scenes to appeal to kids so much that the characters feel shallow and stupid, so much that they always end up as a joke.)

- Not Mojang (I have no idea why everyone so obssessed with this indie company and notch, minecraft feels like a glorified level creator, and there is no point of playing it more than a couple of minutes, atleast Terraria had an actual good battle system and "Adventure" as in it pays if you try exploring)

- Not Microsoft (I don't want your freaking Media Apps, and I really don't want any more kinect games and Adverts about how great your freaking Windows Phone and Kinect are, I get it , stop shoving stuff on my face, Its not enough that I pay a yearly Xbox Live Gold account fee that you shove pointless adverts ofJersey Shore, Justin Beiber and some other american mainstream shit, I bought the console for games, not to waste money on freaking adverts, and some other PR Bullshit)

this is not a rant by the way.

I pretty much agree with this.

Have you seen the latest Far Cry 3 footage of the interactive movie scene in the burning house? I wanted to throw up.

All these AAA interactive movies are a disgrace to gaming.

I assume you talking about games like Uncharted when you say "interactive movies"....such bullshit. If you calling uncharted a disgrace to gaming then you are completely delusional.

Far Cry actually looks promising compared to Far Cry 2 which was boring as hell. Nothing but a benchmarking tool for my pc.

Theres nothing  wrong with a game focusing on cinematics, graphics, atmosphere and story. As long as they dont forsake gameplay then its algud. And based on sales, user reviews, and critic reviews id say uncharted did well in every category.

there is a huge difference between linearity and the lack of content, uncharted has both these issues though.

Uncharted 3 has an 8 hour single-player and a huge multi-player offering, including co-op. And DLC has been rolled out frequently and regularly. That's more content than most games. And since when was linearity an issue? I guess half-life 2 is a horrible game. If you don't like linearity in games that's fine, but it's a subjective criticism and should be treated as such.
