Yes, namely for Kratos and the guy from God of War whose name escapes me at the moment.

You can't be serious.
How on earth was I trolling when I simply asked if Sony is known for its characters. They've created exactly 1 iconic character this entire generation and that is Nathan Drake.
I'm not knocking their games cause they are awesome, but if there is one thing sony is known for, characters are not it. Franchises as a whole yes but not the characters in them.

Sackboy says hi. (I would even say Cole McGrath from inFamous is iconic)
What iconic characters has Nintendo created this genertation? I can't think of ANY.
|
Sackboy is borderline there but he still isn't yet. LBP is not a well known franchise tbh, LBP2 only sold 2.5 million copies.........that is no where near enough to be considered an iconic character.
And calling Cole McGrath iconic is laughable. Neither entry in the series has ever sold 3 million copies with the 2nd title only selling 1.1 million.
Iconic means you can go up to random gamer and say a character name and they will know who your talking about. Mario, Sonic, Donkey Kong, Master Chief, Link, Zelda, Kirby, Spyro, Crash Bandicoot, Marcus Fenix, Kratos these are Iconic characters. Nathan Drake is just starting to get there and become well known as a character. I have people come in and ask me when the next Drake game comes out, that is a sign that he's getting there. But Sackboy and Cole McGrath are nowhere near that.
Honestly Sony isn't known for its characters AT ALL outside of its small hardcore fanbase. The 2-3 million consumers who go out and buy the Killzone's, Infamous's, and such. Look at the consoles sales it has an install base of over 64 million and not even a fraction of that userbase is buying its exclusives outside of the few with iconic characters such as Uncharted and God of War. This isn't a rip on Sony at all because they ARE known for their franchises, just like I said not because of the characters within them.
