Forums - Nintendo - ... And so i gave Skyward Sword a second try, but...

I really like the game (the dungeons and art style are what sells it for me) but it certainly isn't flawless.

I completely agree on Fi. The techno-bable does not fit in at all well with the Zelda universe (she sounds like fucking GLaDOS) and she's nags way too much. Navi was also a pain but out of nostalgia somehow her nagging has become delightfully annoying.

The overworld is one of the worst Zelda has ever seen, not open enough. It doesn't feel organic. The hub with places off of it isn't a terrible idea and can work wonderfully (well it has once, in SM64) but they didn't pull it off.

Yes, I find a little bit odd that she calls Link master and it can get a little bit annoying at times, but if you made it so far just keep playing it, the dungeons are simply amazing and you really really need to see the desert ;9

I finished the 3rd dungeon and havent gone back to it yet twilight princess is better so far.

Agreed.  In my opinion, Twilight Princess is Zelda's finest hour.  Graphics haven't aged as well as I'd hoped (replayed this and Ocarina right before I bought Skyward Sword) but the adventure is still my favorite.  Skyward Sword had some truly great moments but it never reached Twilight Princess heights.

Yes its the zelda I had the most fun with I compared al the other zedas to it and i cant really find one thats as good to me its a near perfect adventure.

Twilight is probably my least favourite of the modern Zelda's (LTTP and beyond, don't think the prior games are comparable). It just felt so bland and generic. Apart from Midna, she was awesome.

If you're getting low on health, you must be pretty damn retarded. Can't blame the game.

^_^ <3

Kidding of course.

I don't know, Fi kind of grew on me at the end. You might know what I mean if you get there. I just tried my best to ignore her whenever possible, especially if I knew what she was about to tell me. Also, for the most part, I did not find any of the tasks too tedious. I probably would have thought the game was tedious if it took me 50+ hours to beat, which it didn't. So all in all, it was a very worthwhile experience. I definitely need to get around to playing every zelda game... only played Ocarina, Twilight, and Skyward so far.

Skyward Sword is definitely a love it or hate game. It's honeslty a very controversial Zelda game due to the motion controls and change in the formula. The game has a lot of shortcomings and you have valid complaints. Personally I loved this game, but Zelda 2 is also my 3rd favorite Zelda game so I kinda have a twisted/pecuilar tastes lol.

In all honesty if you already beat the 3rd dungeon and still aren't enjoying yourself, then you should just stop playing. There's no reason to force yourself to play through a game you don't like if even if like other games in the series.

I'm an advocate for motion controls, Nintendo, and Kicking freaking Toad to the Moon!

From the 4th dungeon and on the game will get really awesome and Fi will start to reduce her suggestion.

I've played only once, though, because i'm fine with that and i don't wanna hear her anymore.
Plus the story is pretty darn good from that point and starts to explain it all.

Minish Cap was the last Zelda that I thoroughly enjoyed playing. TP I never finished, had some good moments but didn't hook me the way the previous games in the series did. Spirit Tracks was way too easy and hand-holdy. And Skyward Sword... I bought it for my sister, and all I played was the beginning "tutorial" segments, and that was all I could stomach.

Thank god for games like Skyrim... I've already logged more than 100 hours into it, and I haven't even made it halfway through the main quest yet!

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

I really need to give this one another try but I wasn't hooked after the first few hours and I came to the realization that Zelda as a franchise may have just lost that gaming magic for me. I wasn't able to finish Twilight Princess either, so that probably should have been hint.

I honestly can't say I know what it would take to draw me back into another Zelda game after playing Skyward Sword.
