Why? I don't have a bias for any platform so just don't get this kind of behaviour. Why ruin a mechanic intended to aid others in getting a feel or whether to invest in a particular game?
Same reason some people vote for a candidate based on what party they belong to instead of if they are the best candidate for the job in question.
It's stupid, but human, I guess.
I know I'm biased against certain genres, so I tend not to give ratings on most FPS/3PS shooters or sports games unless one happens to grab my attention somehow(Like Prey and Bioshock did). Sites with a rating system like this one has would be more reliable if more people did the same, but it ain't gonna happen.
It should show what people vote for to everyone on the site. There have obviously been some fanboy low ratings on a few great Nintendo games, aswell as the other systems. It goes both ways, but there are more pro-Nintendo users on this website so the result is clear.
IMO ratings on this site should be deleted , and a new metacritic like rating sistem should be put up , or a review sistem , so anyone who wants to make a rating , he/she should write at least a 200 word review ...

Good idea, they could be moderated then aswell.
I would never rate a game (high or low) if I haven't played it. I know some people do, but I don't see the point in messing stuff up for other people. If there's a game that I like, no mater what platform it's on, I'll rate it high and vice versa.

This was a good suggestion. I would suggest, that you can only rate games on the "games i own" list, but that would be a problem to people like me, who have borrowed a lot of games from relatives and friends. Although, rating only "games i own" would be better than the current system.

Wrong! Rayman Raving Rabbids 2 is not rated higher than Uncharted! In fact, it's rated worse than Rayman Raving Rabbids. Do you know how many times I have posted links to Game Rankings, and Metacritic, because of dumb stuff like this? It's starting to get annoying.
