Sorry guys but these "new IP's" you mentioned are either casual crap or no-names. I'm talking about big franchises like Zelda, DK, Mario. Look at Sony they had Uncharted, Killzone, LBP etc. this gen, look at Microsoft, they had at least Gears. Nintendo made nothing new that's mentionable for the hardcore gamer since ehm...yeah.

Killzone is a new IP this gen? LBP is hardcore? so anything you don't like is not hardcore?

Besides, way to change from your original point.

After 50 years Nintendo makes a new IP, congratulations!!!

so from not making new IPs ever to not making IPs you like...

1. Ok I made a mistake with Killzone, but LBP is a game that's played and loved by many hardcore gamers. What can be more hardcore than making your own games??

2. Yes, of course I know there were some new IP's there, but tell me, which one of those has the quality and charm of the older ones? But of course, I've exageraded.

And how many of those exclusives that have been named are really exclusive because Nintendo did them or owns them?

Most of them are made by developers with little money that chose the Wii because it's cheaper to make games for than the PS360.

All I'm trying to say (with a bit of trolling in my first post, I admit) is that Nintendo lacks innovation, doesn't care for their truest fans and if it innovates it's only for easy money. (Nintendogs, Wii Fit)

I also happen to be 28 years old and I also know what I like and dislike. My issue was never with "I don't like racing sims." Of course not everyone does and that's fine. My issue was with "I don't like racing sims so Nintendo are wasting their time when they're making something I don't enjoy." That's elitist, at the very least.

That's not just elitist, that's...

The same thing annoys me with the Wii-mote, the controller itself is nothing short if brilliant but there are way too few who are utilizing the potential this thing has, using mostly waggle functions and adding annoying sounds to the speakers.

I understand perfectly well that there is room for two markets, or perhaps even more, and everyone should be free to enjoy the games they want.

If anything, Nintendo fans should welcome the initiative and effort rather than show utter disdain based on personal preference and attitude.

This is a good move by them, in my opinion, this and actually building a console which can recieve proper ports from consoles of the same generation. It shows that they are thinking are trying to solve the problems they've had over the 7th generation, sticking to the old ways out of defiance won't get them anywhere and the same goes for their fans.

Agree about this, WM+ in particular oozes missed opportunities, but Balance Board too could have been used a lot more (it was actually used in even fewer games than WM+, but the bundled games' success put the issue in the background. Edit: and got it overlooked until it was too late and Kinect surpassed BB in weekly sales also after the first weeks after launch and after the 2nd Xmas boost, being on the way to do it lifetime too).

^Now imagine a combination of WiiM+ and the Balance Board, properly executed, that could have shaken the very foundations of console gaming.

Is this an Automobili Lamborghini type deal, or an Auto Modelista? Maybe a blend of the two, but now campy like Need for Speed Nitro...

Sounds kinda legit...Nintendo is all about arcade so this might be a good fit. Don't know how they could do an F-Zero afterwards though...

Just stop it guys. Don't ruin another thread, please.

Absolutely. I too often thought about it, although I was seeing it for possible games that could have been motion control hardcore, for example action RPGs where you actually have to parry enemies' blows and defeat their parries with your blows to actually hit them (although statistics and experience systems should have been redesigned in a major way for what regards melee combat, while action adventures and other genres without experience and stats systems could have benefited from that control scheme without that drawback).

Cruisn World?

I so want a sequel of that game. Way more cars, way more maps, unlockables and online play. Cruisn World was so fun.

Indeed. It's odd Nintendo didn't release Starfox, FZero, and maybe even a Cruisn game on Wii.

Gaming on: PS4 Pro, Switch, SNES Mini, Wii U, PC (i5-7400, GTX 1060)

All the IPs that he mentioned are owned and/or were developed by 1st and 2nd parties (I not sure about maboshi)

(Xenoblade Chronicles, Disaster: Day of Crisis, Soma Bringer, Wii..., Brain Training/Age, Nintendogs, Steel Diver, Eco Shooter 530, Maboshi, Dillon's Rolling Western, Line Attack Heroes)

And on top of that you could also add, The last story, Pandoras tower, pushmo, Eternal darkness, Starfy, fluidity, rhythm heaven...
