It's not exclusive.

right. Still, I'd prefer it if this rumor turns out to be false. I don't need an exclusive ultra-realistic sim-racing game as long as I get a good one.

If this is a real Nintendo game in development, I doubt it's as cookie-cutter as the article is trying to make it seem.

The funny thing is I actually joked about this kind of scenario on vgchartz a few years ago... I called it "Nintencars"

But this isn't an ultra-realistic sim-racing game, you nutcase. The article states that the game controls similar to PGR.

eh... tomayto tomahto

Until you've played it, every game is a system seller!

Do not want. With Nintendo's limited resources (even contracting an outside developer like this) more could be done in more productive fields

Concept Grand Prix is expected to provide extremely realistic physics, with controls and gameplay similar to Project Gotham.

I love the PGR series more than pretty much any racing series out there with licensed cars but this line of the article stands out as incredibly uninformed.

PGR is known for its amazing mixture of heavily arcade stylized, pseudo-realistic gameplay (in other words, the cars handle the way the "reality" of a regular gamer would expect them to but not the way their real life counterparts actually would -- like a Warthog in Halo). To say that this new game will provide "extremely realistic physics... like PGR" is an oxymoron.

If it's true and Nintendo has brought back some of Bizarre to spiritually continue PGR style gameplay I'm happy. If this is pure gest and there are no plans for any of this, I'm sure Ninty will be focusing on many other things I'll enjoy seeing revealed.

I seriously doubt that Nintendo will position this game as a sim, PGR-style physics and fictional manufacturers do not a driving sim make.

I'm pretty sure that, as usual, it is just another amateur journalist pretending to know things, about things, and using some hyperbolic language to get people in a tizzy.

Nintendo abandoning the hardcore Nintendo gamers!

But this won't be a racing sim.

If you stupid close-minded Nintendo fans actually bothered to expand your horizons, you would know that this could actually be pretty cool, because the PGR games always tried to maintain fun and variety. This is not a dry simulation where you are supposed to marvel at the cars, this is actual racing.

*Yawn*

Wuzzat? Huh?

*Looks around sheepishly*

Sorry, I fell asleep once you mentioned racing sim.

There are quite a few things from this rumor that are making me take its worth with a grain of salt.

1. As far as I know, Nintendo has never developed a new IP that tries to directly benefit from the competitions Pre-existing successful franchise . It's not in their nature to simply try to copy off of another franchises success and hope to be successful themselves. I mean we've still yet to seen a GTA, COD, or Halo type game from Nintendo even though all 3 of the series are wildy successful.

2. To my knowledge Nintendo has never developed a realistic simulation game before. The closest games i can think of are the Wave Race, 1080 Snowboarding, and Pilotwings series, and even those are more arcade style games.

3. If in fact Nintendo is developing a true racing sim to compete white GT and Forza, then there is no way this game can have anything in it that bends the suspension of believe ( i.e. Cameos from popular Nintendo Characters/Nintendo inspired tracks etc. ) The people who buy GT and Forza would definitely not tolerate any zany Nintendo antics in their the game. They want a game that is as realistic as possible.

4. To sum it up. If Nintendo is developing a true racing sim to try to directly compete with and try to sway over the Forza and GT fanbase. Then it needs to be devoid of that fantasy land Nintendo Magic, But if they take out that Fantasy Land Nintendo Magic, this game would simply just be another racing sim. Or to put in another way. The third wheel.

I'm an advocate for motion controls, Nintendo, and Kicking freaking Toad to the Moon!
