Forums - Nintendo - Rumor: Nintendo's Answer To Gran Turismo And Forza In Development

This is amazing, also Nintendo doesn't own Lucid do they? So Nintendo is funding a title likely far cheaper then making one in house. I am happy with this Nintendo appears to be getting a ton of external developers involved. So instead of 12 internally developed title Nintendo will probably have 24 in the first year. By hiring developers to create new Nintendo IP exclusive to WiiU that is great. Hopefully Nintendo will acquire the studio if it does an amazing job!

I don't like this, I'd rather they made something else with those resources, hopefully just a rumor

Doesn't seem like their style anyways, and that's good cuz I never liked those games

it's not like they are doing it internally, and making games in new genres helps to expand the userbase.

I said I didn't like this, not that I thought it was a bad move or anything.

I would've rather they allocated those resources to making a new RPG or something, oh well.

what's wrong with project cars? looks good enough for me

It's not exclusive.

right. Still, I'd prefer it if this rumor turns out to be false. I don't need an exclusive ultra-realistic sim-racing game as long as I get a good one.

If this is a real Nintendo game in development, I doubt it's as cookie-cutter as the article is trying to make it seem.

The funny thing is I actually joked about this kind of scenario on vgchartz a few years ago... I called it "Nintencars"

Until you've played it, every game is a system seller!

now this is the fucking Nintendo core gamers have been waiting to see, hope it's true, my interest in wii-u just jumped a notch

I honestly don't see Nintendo going for a sim racer. More likely an arcade one.

I wonder what the Nintendo guys on the site will say to this since sims are a waste of time and boring?

OT: This sounds very, very interesting and could be a terrific idea if executed properly! The only thing that worries me is the control scheme, there would have to be an option to be able to use some sort of standard gamepad for this, touch controls are unacceptable for a sim and Nintendo only ever offered flimsy and silly racing wheels. I see many potential problems and the chance of this game actually becoming something that can compete with GT and Forza on their home turf is indeed very slim. Its almost like thinking LBP or Jak games could compete with Mario.

One could perhaps argue that a game like this does not belong on a Nintendo console but I'm not so sure I agree with that. This could be exactly what they need and, amazingly, make even people like me want to purchase their console!

There is a leaked screenshot going around the internetz:

I like so much Bizarre Creations... I wish this project to be a new Project Gotham...

Ugh. For purely selfish reasons I hope this rumour turns out to be false. I would not be buying this game.

F ZERO!!! Im callin it

f-zero would be a better game (imo) than another sim racer.  the only thing i like about this rumor (if true) is nintendo might actually be actually trying to diversify their library image.  i didn't care enough for GT to ever buy another sim racer.
