I'd very much care if it launches and ends up being less powerful than a console that was released 6-7 years ago at that time.

The Wii U less powerful than the PS3 was an April Fools thing.

The people who care are those who perpetuate FUD from anonymous sources, whole ignoring the official statements from known devs.

It certainly wouldn't bother me to the point that I wouldn't still be excited for it; the games and the gameplay are paramount, after all, and even slightly sub 360 graphics are still good.

But being that first, I'm a sucker for aesthetics, and second, it IS 2012, I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't be a little disappointed if the visuals weren't at least AS good as PS360. I really want to see Nintendo's games get the royal treatment and there's no excuse for WiiU's graphics not to be up to this level by now.

Having said all of that, I think it's a moot point in the end because I don't believe for one second that WiiU's graphics will be sub-par in any way to the HD twins. I think E3 will be a pleasant surprise for anyone in doubt.

It's a price issue really. While i'm no advocate for cutting edge console graphics, when you're launching the Wii U even at a low $299 (purely hypothetical, could be less or more), why should you purchase it if its weaker than your soon to be cheaper alternatives in the 360 and PS3 that have been out for 6 years and have enormous game libraries at this point?
