Maybe something apple like, calling the next playstation by just the new playstation. Like apple just called the new iPad all iOS devices are following the same thread. This is simple, and avoid problems with japanese consumers.

In Chinese four has the same pronunciation as death, both are pronounced si. That's why chinese airlines have no seat or row 4 and skyscrapers no fourth floor. I don't know how that is in Japanese though.

I like that. They could buy SegaSammy (should be cheap) and make Sonic exclusive for their PMS.
Also, the abbreviations for Play Station Quattro sounds quite cool. PSQ, pretty nice sounding if I say so myself!
