what do you think it will be? Do you think it will follow the tradition and be called PS4 OR follow the route Vita took and be named something else?

I think it will be the latter personally, I believe it will still include the name Playstation but will be followed by a easy to remember and probably silly sounding latin term. I think this will be a good approach to take marketing wise as it opens up more possibilities and will help build a new brand image while they are at it.The name might compliment a possible unique feature the system have as well or just something unrelated like PS Kaz

So yeah, what do you guys think?

Playstation 4. Sony can't think of a better name that trumps the Playstation brand.  Off the top of my head... GameStation.. calling off the powers of the PS2 and GC combined sales to fuel the highest selling system ever.

i hope for PS4

"PSP2" doesn't roll off the tongue the way PS1, PS2, PSP, PSV, PS3, and PS4 did/does/will

They have been increasing their reliability over previous generations so the name would fit.

Four is never works. They will change.
(iphone lives in another plane of logic, before anyone say something. And besides, iphone 2 never existed)

Those are their only options. The Playstation brand is still strong and people will expect the next PS to be named PS4. There is no need to change the name. The only reason Vita is not called PSP2 is because the PSP left a bad taste in peoples mouths..

PS4 in the west, possibly something else in Japan since they don't like 4 for reasons I don't remember.

I heard some time ago it was due to the number of fingers crimanals/honorless people had - since they had to cut off one of their fingers, after a crime/dishonor act.

So it became a bad luck number. I don't know if it's true, but it's a cool story.
