I don't remember who said it but he is definitely one of the greatest ever.

Ned Stark didn't fight Jamie in the book. Ned Stark was more of a commander than a fighter.

Also, I forgot to add another character to my list, but it would be a spoiler so I will not

Ned said somthing like: He is happy for his wifes sake that he never meet Baristan on the Battlefield for his wifes sake. And that he saw him cut down 12 men at the same time.

And now you have to tell me who that is. If its not the guy who championed Tyrion against "The Mountain" or Jaufree

It is indeed. He should be at or near the top of the list.

You are forgetting a certain Knight of the Kingsguard that was unceremoniously excommunicated, and has yet to make another appearence

Indeed, forgot him on my list. He'd be at the top probably

Who is it?

We better enjoy it while we can since I really doubt they have the resources or are able to keep the actors beyond season four, that is, the end of Storm of Swords.

I thought those were pretty good ratings for a subscription cable channel. You GoT fans should also try watching Starz show Sparacus and the Showtime show The Borgias. Both are real good shows.

Why?

I remember reading an article saying that GoT is more profitable to HBO than any other show is to it's channel. They sell each episode internationally for $2.5 million and DVD/blu-ray sales of Season 1 were monstrous.

I watch Spartacus too, but it really is nothing compared to GoT. It's just mindless sex & violence and it also has a weak plot imo.

^True, but it is extremely entertaining. The Borgias has a much better plot, but less violence.

The plot of Spartacus is pretty great imo, very underrated because on the surface it's just sex & violence like you say, but beneath it all is a great plot. Not as great as GoT though fo' sure, but the GoT guys have their work cut out for them.

That they do. I am having a hard time trying to figure out how they are going to do the next three books with som much going on. They may need to cut out some of the main characters entirely. But that may be hard, since they don't know which caracters will be important in the final books.

I'm not telling, but it can be deduced from Pjams' post

Come on tag it as a spoiler or per PM. I have to know

I'm kinda disappointed about the ratings, there was so much hype about this episode and I thought it would get over 4m :(. Overall though, this series has had pretty steady ratings, and a show like GoT (due to its complex plot) will only pick up viewers between seasons.

Anyway, I'm gonna start reading the books once this season ends. Im not sure whether I should start from the start or at A Storm of Swords...

The start, GOT was done well in the series but the second series of the show has deleted so much and got so much wrong you'd need read the books to understand.

Indeed, or at least start with Clash of Kings if you absolutely don't want to read GoT (why wouldn't you?!). Many, many changes and some characters behave completely differently to how they behave in the books.

There have been a lot of changes/cuts, but I think a lot of them make sence since they are trying to trim the story down to 10 episodes. I liked what they did with Jon Snow. But the first two episodes of this season might have confused me if I hadn't read the book, they crammed so much in with so little explanation.

James Hibberd has the numbers for this past Sunday’s episode of Game of Thrones. The initial airing was viewed by 3.4 million viewers, down 13% from last week’s 3.9 million. As James notes, this drop is likely due to the Memorial Day holiday, where historically overall TV viewership drops around 20%.

UPDATE: TVByTheNumbers has the exact figures: 3.384 million for the 9PM airing and 863k for the 11PM repeat, for a total of 4.247 million viewers for the night.

Also, HBO has provided Hibberd with an updated total viewers per episode number: it stands now at 10.3 million. Thrones is still the third-most watched series in HBO’s history, and is inching closer to the number two spot, currently held by True Blood.

Winter Is Coming: No reason to panic here, folks. I expected a drop due to the holiday. Thanks to all the positive buzz off of this episode, plus the fact that finales usually have an uptick in viewers, I expect we will cross that 4 million barrier next week.

Thats awesome, True Blood is my favourite HBO show :)
