I'm kinda disappointed about the ratings, there was so much hype about this episode and I thought it would get over 4m :(. Overall though, this series has had pretty steady ratings, and a show like GoT (due to its complex plot) will only pick up viewers between seasons.

Anyway, I'm gonna start reading the books once this season ends. Im not sure whether I should start from the start or at A Storm of Swords...

The start, GOT was done well in the series but the second series of the show has deleted so much and got so much wrong you'd need read the books to understand.

Indeed, or at least start with Clash of Kings if you absolutely don't want to read GoT (why wouldn't you?!). Many, many changes and some characters behave completely differently to how they behave in the books.

There have been a lot of changes/cuts, but I think a lot of them make sence since they are trying to trim the story down to 10 episodes. I liked what they did with Jon Snow. But the first two episodes of this season might have confused me if I hadn't read the book, they crammed so much in with so little explanation.
