I really do like the British Royal family, and the UK does have a fascinating history, with some of the greatest writers of all time (Tolkien, the Huxleys, etc..). The British have a very incredible history, an amalgamation of many different Germanic peoples, from central Germany, to Western Germanic, Northern Germanic, and finally the Normans - but all of this began on a canvas of Celtic peoples and hundreds of years of Romans.
Although my view of contemporary UK is very different:
Run down, poor, full of pukey alcoholics with bad hygiene and diseases, pretentious fanatical neo-conservative/neo-atheists who irritate and annoy everybody, and among the most uncivilized people in the western world who would trash their own civilization based on a drunken whim.
I really don't want to leave out that they have the most overrated music in all of the world; all they have done since the 70's is rip off American pop music styles, make it sound hideous, and think they're both original and awesome.
One thing Americans don't give themselves nearly enough credit for is how much better their pop music is than mostly everyone else. Blue Cheer, Steppenwolf, and Hendrix invent Metal, the British took the credit. Blondie and the Cars invent New Wave, the Brits take the credit. The Ramones invent punk Rock, and the Brits again take the credit.... They even tried to take the credit for Grunge originally. Not only did the US do it first, but they did it all way better. Even the music that the British did actually come up with, like hard rock, Americans did a lot better.
Although, I am being overly harsh on the UK. I do think the Brits have actually done astounding things in the genres of Synth Pop and New Romanticism: Duran Duran, Depeche Mode, Ladytron, etc... Although, again, while there were examples of proto-Synth pop, the trend of Synth Pop in the 80's began with New Wave - which is American.
For non-pop music, I think Germany's classical music history demolishes everyone elses though =P
I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.
I'm Canadian, not American so I see you guys as allies. I'm half-British (mother from Scotland) so I could probably get a dual citizenship if I wanted to.
I probably just see you guys as the same as us, but more socialist and a lot more tea/crumpets being consumed. Oh and you guys drive stupid little cars like Minis and Fiat 500s where awesome Canadians drive big ass trucks like F-150s which we don't actually use for work purposes or anything, just because we love trucks.
UK is great. Best Single Malt Whisky from Scotland, and England always looses in international football.
Happy to have you guys around.

Well of course one has to admire how powerful the British once where and sort of wonders where they are heading.
I dont have a real picture of UK. I dont know much about it. All I have is this:
Warm beer
Fried Mars Bar
Tee and cookies
Drunk girls crawling half nacked on streets
Arthur, Robin Hood
Bridge, Clock, River
Fat guy in wheelchair
Like Videogames
Queen
Black cabs and melon hats
Football
Beckham, Spice Girls
Aston Martin
Weird food
Guys hunting stuff on horses and mansions
No trees

Hi Seth, some of what you said might be in jest but it sounds like you know little about The UK.
