the rest of the world exists comment. Sadly I think that is the case some of the time. Anyone watch jay leno ask world questions?

I think some of that is camerawork and editing.

At any rate, I think England is a majestic country, but kinda screwed up by its politics. They are, just as the US is, losing a lot of freedoms in the name of security. Maybe its because I have a Daily Mail feed, but it seems that there are so many screwed up laws to "protect" people, its to the point of absurdity.

The cockney accent may be the 2nd worst accent of English speakers in the world (black ebonics being 1st, and southern drawl being 3rd).

Your food is generally horrible. You think American food is bad? I've never found a whole lot of English food that looks agreeable. No wonder they eat more Chinese than they do their own food.

I think their women are gnerally unattractive. Not saying there aren't pretty ones, but in general, what I see isn't that great. And being American, that should tell you something.

But hey, you hate the French and have a lot of funny jokes about them, so that's a score. Plus you killed a lot of Germans in WW2, so another plus.

Of course, we did handle you in the Revolutionary War, so thats one pont for America over the UK.

I'd travel to England for the heritage. Lots of cool places. But you couldn't pay me enough money to live there. One of the last places I'd settle down to live and do business in.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

True Mr. Stick, but where did the idea come from in the first place? They just automatically sid "Well americans know nothing about the world, let's make a running gag on it". I think it is somewhat true.

Sure, but I'd say that there's a pretty good reason for it. America is so large that other cultures aren't always present in our society. For example, London is only about 150mi from Paris. Do you know where 150 miles gets you from Columbus, Ohio? To the edge of the state line. Most Americans have barely crossed state lines, so its hard for them to get a real idea of cultures that are almost always thousands of miles away.

Does that make it acceptible? Of course not. I hate the ignorance of people I know. But I do understand the difficulty of it, when our diverse culture is always in front of us (due to the nationalities of everyone in our country), it becomes hard to really understand and learn about others in a serious way.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

tiny hotel rooms. Fees for every little thing imaginable. Cameras watching you at every corner. All taxis look like old bentleys. Crazy drivers. Crisp shop at every corner. Lots of tourists. Then again I've only been to London.

Crazy drivers? British drivers are very skilled, our driving tests are actually hard.

I love crumpets and tea! Does this make me British?... Because I'm 80% British. xD (Background)

TBH any strong accent can be difficult to understand. I'm from Yorkshire and have had difficulty conversing with some local people. Maybe that's because I use terms like 'conversing' though

What part of Yorkshire you from?

I was born in Leeds, and live near 'uddersfield.

That's because there is a shit-ton of cars in a tiny country with skinny roads... so we have to learn well.

As stereotypes go though, crazy driving is usually more associated with the French the Indians and the Chinese. Although in my personal experience Spanish taxi drivers are insane. (admitedly taxi drivers the world over are generally mad, but all the Spanish ones who have driven me have been particularly agressive)

Cool! We're like, SO close! I'm from a village called Thurnscoe which is around 7 miles away, infact my big brother went to college in Doncaster, and I go shopping every few months, lol.

You go shopping in Doncaster?

To me it always seemed like S.Yorks Huddersfield... which would put me off shopping there. If I lived where you did I'd shop in Sheffield (though I could be biased as i went to SHU so I know the city well). I tend to make my way to Leeds if I want to shop even though it's twice as far as Hudds... Then again I don't drive, and if I did trying to park in Leeds would certainly put me off shopping there, maybe it's the same in Sheffield.

Yeah I no thurnscoe, shopping in donny good, the frenchgate centre and the Market just on the doorstep and the rest of the town
