There are layers to what I like about this demo.

The second half of the single-player demo is actually poorly constructed but it highlights a nice aspect of the game even in how it obfuscates one of the mechanics.

A person playing any class but Soldier will notice that in the latter part of the demo, your power cooldowns are stupidly high. Based on this, one might assume that Bioware wants you to play it like a shooter!

But this is not so. The hting is that Shepard now has a weight capacity, which is affected by the number and type of guns being carried (also possibly armor type). If you go over the weight capacity, your power cooldown starts skyrocketing. The latter half of the demo has your cooldowns agonizingly slow because the rat bastards designing the demo gave you one of every weapon type except a sniper rifle.

I'm running around in multiplayer carrying nothing but a shotgun, and I've shaved 45% off my cooldown time based on my weight bonus alone.

What this does is it creates a dynamic where you have to choose between variety of weapon (within your weight range) versus fast power cooldowns. It kind of highlights the "either or" stat change mechanic that's further highlighted by the skills you choose between.

There's going to be a massive number of synergistic, completely viable, and unique stat/skill combinations in this game. That's just, that's just stupidly exciting. I am so excited.

I also like how yoru allies are now better at using cover and surviving aggro. Got the Atlas to go after Garrus and Liara, which let me flank it and shove my shotgun right up its ass.

I noticed the longer cooldowns, however it has not occurred to me that weight had anything to do with it - despite having higher selection of guns, couldn't piece two and two together lol. And agreed, had it been ME2 garrus probably would have died a good 3 times during the Atlas.

Disconnect and self destruct, one bullet a time.

I had no screen tearing on my end on the PC version...still the visuals were rather subpar but graphics have evolved by quite a bit since 2010.

What I didn't like was the inability to type to others during co-op. Dead Space 2 had the same bloody issue. Get your act together EA and Bioware. P2P is bad enough as it is on PC, you don't want to kill off the community on PC within 1 day.

As for the gameplay. Feels like a carbon copy of ME2 with a beefed up melee attack. I do like the new health system though, finally a use for my omni gel apart from healing teammates with terrible ai that keep dying.

someone tried the Kinect commands ?

Downloaded it on PC, holy monkey balls the screen tearing and the graphics options are a joke. Why do you do this Bioware?

Edit: But I'd like to add that I mostly enjoyed it. Not too excited about it though

I didn't actually notice any screen tearing on 360, the graphics were OK, but then again it is a demo, however, the animations were pretty poor. They did do a pretty controversial scene in there, won't spoil it for anyone, but I was like "DAAAAAAMNNN REAPERS!".

Tried out vanguard too, pretty awesome too.

The screen tearing was mostly tied to the cutscenes, likely because of wonky locked FPS in those scenes. That scene was good, liked the music too but I can't shake the feeling that they don't want to make RPG's anymore. A shame really, since they were once some of the best in the genre.

Either you have a crap graphics card, or you haven't turned on v-sync. There's no tearing in any pc games released in the last 10 years or so that support 3d hardware. Turning on v-sync completely eliminates any tearing, period. If the option isn't available in game then it is available in your driver config.

I'm not going to download and play it because I'm getting the game anyway, don't see a point but The Reckoning Demo came with a free amour for Mass Effect 3. Any kind of random freebies in this demo? So I know to download and get the freebie even if I don't play it.

Hmm, pie.

Thought the music was weak, the first part of the demo was boring and the second part was okay. Also my team failed hard in the multiplayer =p.

Just like with FF13-2, I know this game is a day one buy so I won't be downloading the demo. Hope it was awesome, though.

Played both the SP & MP of the demo, pretty neat.

Didn't encounter any bugs myself, but I can imagine they'd be in their seeing how it's a "old" build.

Day 1 buy for me (Just like the previous games).

Downloading now...
