The WII fanboys are rapid in this thread.

The poll results speak for themselves, PS3 has won the poll by a wide margin.

Wii fanboys - the facts overtake you...

now get a PS3 and play them so you know what you are talking about next time

You claim the Wii fanboys are rapid in this thread, then gloat about PS3 getting the most votes in the poll in the thread. Does that not prove that if anything, the PS3 fanboys are the most "rapid" here?

I bought a PS3 and sold it within a month. Just didn't do it for me. I don't see any apeals to that console and nothing significant that you couldn't get from the 360, which has the stronger game library. I guess I'm just not into the interactive movie style of games that permeate the console.

This thread is a good opportunity to list the exclusives I bought for each system:

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, Xenoblade Chronicles, Kirby's Epic Yarn, Disney Epic Mickey, Super Mario Galaxy 2, The Sky Crawlers: Innocent Aces, Endless Ocean: Blue World, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Little King's Story, Endless Ocean, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, Super Paper Mario, Mario Kart Wii, Zack & Wiki: Quest for Barbaros' Treasure, Super Mario Galaxy / Final Fantasy CC: King, Final Fantasy CC: Darklord, Art Style: light trax.
21 (18 / 3)

Afrika, Yakuza 3, Heavy Rain, Katamari Forever, Heavenly Sword, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, Valkyria Chronicles / Flower, Flow, Wipeout HD, Noby Noby Boy, Planet Minigolf, Cuboid, Hustle Kings, Malicious.
16 (8 / 8)

Fable II, Lost Odyssey, Halo Wars, Project Sylpheed, Kameo: Element of Power / Rez HD, Outpost Kaloki X, Arkedo Series 03 Pixel, A Kingdom for Keflings, ilomilo.
9 (4 / 5)

(I didn't count Wii Sports and Hexic HD as I most probably wouldn't have bought those two bundled games. Rereleaes I bought like Pikmin 1+2, ICO, Shadow of the Colossus didn't count either.)

So obviously Wii for me.

wii, of course, has the best exclusives. dont get me wrong, ps3 has a bunch.. but they just arent very good. infamous 2 and little big planet 2 are just let downs. and the only good exclusives the ps3 has that doesnt try to copy something nintendo has (little big planet, mod nation racers, 3d dot game heroes) are uncharted and god of war. i would count heavy rain and mgs4 but those are more like movies.

anyways, im sure i missed some good ps3 exclusives, but even if i remembered them, it would not make a difference because nintendo owns.

even if you look at downloadable games, nintendo has that on lock. a link to the past and super metroid alone destroy anything that could be downloaded on either the ps3 or 360. not to mention chrono trigger, mega mans, zeldas, marios, dkcs, the list just goes on and on.

no matter which way you slice it, nintendo just has the best exclusives for it. there is no argument here.

Yes, you might, and there might well be other people who remember those games also (myself included. Great games), but they will never be remembered in the masses in the same way as games like Skyward Sword or Galaxy will ever be. And surely that's the measure of success, whether or not the masses will remember it. The games you mentioned are simply too niche to have the same following, and the same level of care or importance weighted on them. Sad but true. No-one really remembers games from the 90's which sold around 250k, do they?

It's not a 'fallacious' assumption. People who live outside of gaming will remember the Wii exclusives, and it will go down as the console which revolutionised gaming (for better and for worse) for most people. Why was this? It was because it offered games of everyone, of a very high quality. That for me is most important, and that's why I say that Nintendo has the best exclusives.

Uncharted, SOTC and Little Big Planet didn't sell 250k copies.

I was referring more to Shadow of The Collusus, ICO and Valkryia Chronicles, which sold around a million copies. However, video gaming is FAR bigger now than it was even 5 years ago, let alone 20, so if one of those games were released in the early 90's, they'd struggle to reach 250k.

This was my assumption.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

I think the reason I give PS3 the best exclusives is because, like worldwide sales, it is strong in all regions.

Retail releases, wii has the most, PS3 in second, Xbox 360 in third, but the distance between each position is 3 games.

Rereleases./HD collections, PS3 has the best, Wii comes in second, with Xbox trailing far behind.

Digital downloads has the Xbox in first, with PS3 in second, with Wii far in last.

Overall, once you combine PS3's second highest number of retail exclusives, second highest amount of digital exclusives, and it's commanding lead in rereleases/HD collections, it comes out on top, even though Wii has the most retail and Xbox 360 has the most downloadable games. 80+, I mean. Variety for the win.

as for favorites, much as I dislike the Wii and Nintendo for what potential they fumbled with, I have to say the best exclusives this gen are Wii games. Objectively and in my opinion, stuff like smash brothers, the zelda games, the mario games, donkey kong, kirby, metroid....they remain strong and dammit I'm happy.

I should do this for handhelds, too, since the PSV and 3DS look to be on level playing ground.

The Wii hit massive numbers because of casuals, not exclusives. Their exclusives sold well but nowhere near the attach rate of Wii Fit and the like.

Casuals buy the exclusives. And Wii Fit is exclusive.

LBP and MNR are just a platformer and a kart racer, not every kart racer is a copy of Mario Kart and definitely not every platformer is a copy of Mario.  That's just ridiculous.  And 3DDGH is actually a Zelda copy, but it's something the Wii doesn't even have, a new Zelda made in the 2D style.

BTW looking at downloadable games and saying Nintendo has it on lock is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard.  A bunch of old ports are not Wii exclusives, that's just a stupid statement.  It boggles my mind that NIntendo is just tossing a bunch of old games on their new console instead of trying to make or get new fantastic games for WW, and not only are you satisfied with that, you're actually elated.  It's insane.

So yeah, there's an argument to be had with reasonable people willing to try to look at things from other people's points of view, just not with you.

yeah, he's pretty frustrating to discuss stuff with, no argument there.  Then again I can be a pain, too.

I personally think that all three systems are close to equal, where Wii has a lot of platform and minigame compilation games, Xbox has a lot of shooters and racers, and PS3 has...a bit of everything.

Coming from a Nintendo fan that adored the GameCube I can honestly say that the PS3's exclusives destroy the Wii's as far as I am concerned. It's a damn shame that Other M didn't prove to be a stroke of genius like the original Prime.
